2003 Mercedes S55
Great buy or pass?!?!
I ran across a 2003 Merc S55 with 35k miles today. I went and rode with the guy and the inside and out looks to be in great condition. The only issue that he told me about was the PSE pump. I think I can get the car for around $10k-$11k. That seems like a pretty good price. Should I go for it or am I setting myself up for repair after repair? I'm fairly mechanically inclined; It should be very hard to replace a PSE Pump, right??? Does anyone know what kind of cost am I looking at for this model?
I've always dreamed of owning an AMG Mercedes and it just happened that I was looking for an extra vehicle and this popped up and the price point seemed too good to pass up. I really appreciate the feedback.

I could easily imagine this as a 18-20k car so if you can get it at 10-11k thats a great deal especially with the low miles. If I'm not mistaken, the PSE pump can be had for 350-500 dollars for a rebuilt one w warranty and more if brand new. It would also need to be programmed to the car. and everyone would say- have the car inspected at a reputable mechanics shop or dealership before purchase! I wouldn't let the PSE pump be a deciding factor
