Blower oil
Hey guys I want to do the oil change on the sc and I've read all over the site and see the Mobil Jet Oil 2 is best, but does anyone know any local places in LA to get it? Was hoping to have my buddy do it while it's in his shop Monday. Is that really better than the oil from the dealer? From the research I've done it seems draining and filling 150ml is correct. Thanks!

i heard its life time which only means 10yrs and or 100k miles.
i want to know the benefits of changing the super charger oil. Like if you dont change your transmission oil in like never you might as well not because its going to start slipping if you do. So i wonder if its sort of the same scenario with the supercharger oil

The DIY's are all over youtube. CMPCPRO, I think the Mobil Jet Oil II is the exact same oil that the dealer uses. I didn't know the dealer actually sold any of it.
What's a more interesting question is whether there's something better. It seems to be just a high quality lubricant, with certain characteristics that fit the use case, same as motor oil, hydraulic fluid (Pentosin), etc. Fluid is fluid, as long as it performs to spec, seems to me. Just because Jet Oil II was the best in 2000 (when these cars were designed) doesn't mean it's the best now. Just my thoughts.

For example, I wonder if this one is better... https://www.mobil.com/English-US/Avi...il-Jet-Oil-387. Most of the specs look better, except they didn't test this one for 6.5 Hrs @232 Cdeg, like they did the Jet Oil II. That would give me some pause, since I take mine on long trips. Nothing like the 24-Hours at Daytona, where you're driving the car flat out for hours on end, but you know...
Read the first page of this thread to help make sense of it all... https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ub...pics/1718346/1 Of course, they're talking about the use in aircraft, but that's what it's actually designed for -- turbines.
I would suspect the operating range and the additive package are all that matter. Maybe some daring soul who's used something different (like some better Mobil fluid) can confirm.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
