Diff mount?
Hey guys,
My car seems to be running good but I noticed with my new tranny when putting it in D it engages a lot more positive now vs before, which is good, and everything feels fine but I started thinking about the rear end.. I think I have replaced most of the bushings, etc, I just rebuilt the whole front end.. but does anyone ever replace the rear diff bushings? I was thinking with all the power these cars have, shouldn't that be done at some point? It seems to be cheap..

Well if it's something that's known to wear out and it could help stiffen the drivetrain up I wouldn't mind.. but having time to do it and whether they need to be done are two very different things. Obviously I don't want to replace something that isn't known to go bad.. I want to bring the car back to the way it's meant to be.

Chris, it's not something I've heard of, and I've owned mine over 8 years. One of the "issues" with these cars is with so few of them on the road, the sample sizes are small. You might call Quaife (http://www.birdsauto.com/product-inf...al-conversions) or Wavetrac to see if they recommend changing the bushings with their differential kits. If not, then that's evidence that the bushings are not at issue. Either way you may learn something. I'd also ask Marc at Sun Valley.
