Hi guys, I'm new to the forum so first wanted to say HI!!!!! and that it looks like you have a great community around here. My question is regarding the avg. cost of insurance for everyone...I realize the prices vary per age/local/car etc etc. but I honestly have no idea what people are paying to insure their s55's.

I pay a pretty penny for insurance on my Cobra (I'm 20 Years Old) and would expect the cost to rival it.
Anyway, I'm looking at purchasing a 2001/2002 S55 in the near future and am looking to get a feel of what to expect. Any info from anyone would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Your insurance rate would be through the roof! You're under 25 and would be driving a car with over 300hp (just a magic #).

There's a huge difference in insurance rates depending on where you live. When I moved from southern Minnesota to the Phoenix area my rates nearly doubled.

I get the lowest possible rates because of age and driving history and I live in the area of the Valley which has the lowest rates but they still almost doubled.

If I bought a new E-Class, my rates would go up another 50%.
