Hi there, I own a W215 CL500 & plan on buying a W221 07-13 S63. In your opinion, which model year(s) is/are the best in reliability & performance wise? Thanks.

i agree go with the 2011+ models, i have a 2012 and its the best thing i ever had., more features that the 08 09 , better fuel economy , more power , looks better , and the sound of thoes turbo while you drive make you never wanna turn the radio on.

I agree, you definitely want to go with 2011+. Very fast car with no major issues. You can also find some 2011-2013 model years with the performance package which gives you more hp & tq. The biggest complaint is that the MCT transmission is jerky. I haven't had this issue but even those that do, according to MB, the transmission is working as designed. Buy one, you will not be disappointed.
