airmatic air strut problems

Hello I'm wondering if someone could tell me if there is a difference between the air strut on a rear wheel drive S Class such as an S430 or S500 compared to 4matic model my vehicle is a 2003 S500 4matic wondering if any air strut will fit driver side front or it has to be and all wheel drive thank you
