2001 S55 Pulsation Damper bulb exploded - twice!
The first time it happened while driving, the bulb fully exploded. I found a used one and replaced on the car. Refilled the reservoir and started the car. No wheels on the car yet. In 30 seconds the pressure built up and started spraying the fluid.
So, the pressure build up and then the bulb explosion is a symptom of another problem. My understanding at this time is that the pressure relief valve would adjust the pressure and allow the fluid to return back to the reservoir. So this should not have happened.
Could it be that the return line is blocked and building up pressure? Or could it be the lines to valve blocks are clogged up and there is too much back pressure? Or could it be that the sensor is faulty?
Let me know if anyone experienced this. I am attaching the picture of the pulsation damper for reference.
