I have a 2003 S55 amg. Would anyone know why my driver side high beam headlight will not work. The bulb is good. But no power at the socket. Is there a ballast or resistor I can check?

Another reason could be that there's a short circuit in the headlight assembly. M-B used some kind of "environmentally friendly" wiring insulation that crumbles at about the age of our cars, thus exposing the copper inside, allowing one to short against the other. When I refurbished the S600 TT's headlamps, I had to put heatshrink tubing around the existing wiring just for safety reasons, and at some point, I will redo the internal wiring entirely with new wires. If that's happened to you, the SAM will shut down that lamp.
