Angry 2006 S55 AMG Shaking

Under the passenger side seat, at around 2200 rpm a ridiculously strong vibration can be felt. Trans mounts and engine mounts have both been replaced several times, along with the ABC relief valve. All parts were replaced with OEM parts by a Mercedes specialist but the car still shakes. Also after driving, a strong burning smell is emitted from underneath the passenger side and hood. Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated.

I suggest checking your guibo (flex disc) front and rear as well as the driveshaft center support bearing (carrier bearing).

A lot of time, people will look at that drive shaft flex disc and say “it’s fine, no signs of wear.” But look, these cars are almost 15 years old and have been under massive torque and temp changes that whole time. So my response was “change it anyway.” Under hard acceleration you can almost feel it giving way, basically under the rear of the passenger seat. Please report back so we can all learn.

Cheers,

maw

Which was done first, the engine mounts or the trans mount?

We need information.
What are the circumstances?
What EXACTLY do you have to do to reproduce the vibration?
Nick
