Leaking/leaky ABC strut

Yeah, if it was my car, an OEM part (even a used one) would be the only thing I'd consider. Even where I used to use Arnott parts (the Allroad eats airbags), I've gotten better results with use OEM parts. They're just built better, and "better is a prime number."

A follow up to my original post. I had a chance today to remove the driver's side front wheel and look at the leaky strut. After wiping it off I found an Arnott label, so at least that corner has been replaced with a rebuilt strut.
Would there be any point in me contacting Arnott? It was on the car when I bought it, so it was the PO or the PO before him that replaced it. I'm guessing Arnott won't warranty the strut since I'm not the one who bought it.
This kind of steers me in the direction of a good used part such as maw suggested.
Also, does that date mean it was rebuilt in 2016?

Yeah, Arnott can tell you if that strut was indeed rebuilt then and whether they will warranty it. That conversation will tell you whether you want to get another one from them. It's worth a call, but for my money...
