Distronic realiability?

Bringing my 07 S65 home 1800+ miles, I found the distronic cruise control very nice, when it worked.

Issues I've encountered so far:

1) Sometimes the cruise will simply shut off, and saying (not verbatim) "distronic cruise control not available at this time. check owners manual". Usually becomes available again within half an hour.
2) Sometimes on a slight curve, the car passing on my left will trigger a hard brake on my car because it thinks it's to close in front, yet it's in the left lane and I'm in the right.
3) Sometimes in a straight line, heavy traffic, the cruise will just start hard braking for no reason.

I haven't been able to determine any patterns yet, just wondering what others may have experienced. Could other devices, cars, equipment nearby, whatever exists in the world be causing interference in some cases?

I've had situations #2, #3 happen occasionally but not very often. Mine is an 08 S65.

I used to have a '03 SL55 and I would get situation #1 all the time, at least once per drive.

There is certainly a pattern to this. As nearly everyone knows on this forum, Mercedes-Benz brought this technology to the market first. Then other manufacturers began introducing their own park-assist and other driver assistant features. I have noticed that and Ford product will disengage my Parktronic, and Subarus are likely the worst to broadcast interfering frequencies at road speeds. Most vehicles leave the ultrasonic or other types of parking sensors off until traveling at a speed less than 15mph. Once the suspect vehicle rolls away, the warning disappears on the cluster. Subarus on the other hand will invoke braking while using Distronic Plus on the Interstate, which is incredibly annoying.
