Alignment Report Help! S600

Just got the alignment report back and upon reviewing noticed the right front side camber #s.

I inquired with the tech and was told it was fine and that the only way to adjust was to go through a whole ordeal which involved removing the strut. I didn’t want to make a scene so I just nodded and walked away.

Now, I’m no expert so I just wanted to check to see if my common sense is off since clearly the left side camber was able to be adjusted without an act of congress.

see photo of report below:

It’s worth mentioning as well that the steering wheel was slightly tilted to the left prior to the alignment now it’s almost dead center but just a bit tilted to the right.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

thanks in advance

The good news is they fixed the Toe, which is by far the most critical on these cars. It determines how the tires wear and if it pulls left or right. Th camber is not critical, it just needs to be close. The shortcoming in this sheet is the absence of the target data for your car. I have a W222 S65 and I know that some of the AMG settings are different than for the S600. Just for kicks here is an alignment sheet for that S65, you can see the target data in the center column.

Thanks. This is very helpful! Your report is clearly much more comprehensive. Ok so I’m guessing the reason the left front side camber changed slightly after the adjustment was due, at least to some degree, the fact that the toe adjustment on that side was much greater.

I completely agree with you btw, the target data is helpful. The color coding is confusing since in the before the right side front camber is 1.2 and “YELLOW” and after it’s still 1.2 but now “RED”

Note that on my data sheet the tolerance on the front camber is plus or minus 1/2 deg from the target. The target on yours is not specified but the two sides are less than 1/2 degree apart so it should be ok. I believe one of the differences (feature) on the S65 AMG is the Camber is adjustable, that is why there is a target value, unlike the Caster setting which is not adjustable.

Makes sense! I’m definitely glad I acted dignified when speaking to the tech and immediately came to the forum to get educated…lol
