Angry 2005 S55 AMG No Start

I'm at a loss and really needing some assistance.

I have a 2005 S55 AMG that I can not get started for the life of me after a fuel pump and fuel filter change. Fuel pump was changed because the fitting cracked and was leaking fuel, changed the fuel filter with it because why not. After the change the car would not start. Checked the fuel pump fuse and rely and both checked good. Checked the fuel pressure an I am getting nothing, but I can here the relay switching and the pump kicking on. Approx 1 sec on initial key turn and then all the way through start sequence. Next I changed out the CPS thinking that would fix it, nothing. I'm not getting any kind of fault codes. Put another brand new fuel pump thinking that there was and internal problem to the new one I installed. Then put another brand new CPS sensor in. Once again nothing. I'm tired of throwing parts at it and getting nowhere and the car is giving me nothing. What am I missing?

What other signals does the ECM require to start?
Could it be the fuel pump control unit relay?

The car does have an after market tune through DTK because of the fixed pulley.

I'm truly at a loss! Please Help!

Did it start before changing the fuel filter and fuel pump?

If so, check and make sure the fuel filter is installed correctly.

Any chance polarity is reversed to the pump? Things get assembled wrong.

It did start before changing the pump and I have double and tripled checked the filter installation.

On two pumps I highly doubt it.

Check the battery voltage. It should be at least 12.6V, fully charged. If it's below this, the pump may energize but it won't build pressure.
Disconnect the battery cables and hook up a proper battery charger, if voltage is low.

Thought about that too. Put a full charge on the battery and still nothing.

I'd take another look at the fuel filter. Lots of info here:

https://w220.wiki/Fuel_pump_filter

Are you installing an OEM Pierburg fuel pump? Aftermarket?

I'd also try a new fuel pump relay. You may be able to swap another one out, for test purposes.

Try priming the fuel system by putting the key to position "2". How long does the pump run in position 2?

What's the voltage at the fuel pump?

And of course, ahem, there's enough gas in the tank, right?

I think my issue might be my fuel rail...Reason being I just spent the morning circumventing the fuel filter (connected the fuel pump out hose directly to the fuel pressure sensor), no change to the fuel pressure at the rail. Then I disconnected the fuel pump power and directed connected the fuel pump to the battery. Pump continuously ran with no change at the fuel rail. With all of that being said and only a hard line between the fuel pressure sensor and the rail, leads me to believe it might be the rail... I know the only component on the rail is a fuel pressure dampener. Could that be my problem? Could the system be vapor locked somehow? Thoughts?

The system is really simple, hence the reason I am scratching my head on this one!

Pierburg

Tried a new relay

Numerous times priming and trying to start, aprox 1 sec on initial prime (11.7 volts) and approx 5 seconds on start sequence (10.7 volts)

Half a tank.

"I know the only component on the rail is a fuel pressure dampener. Could that be my problem?"

Yes. The dampener can get clogged. It also serves as the fuel pressure regulator.

You will need the following parts to proceed:

305-997-03-45 Fuel Injection Throttle Body Mounting Gasket

112-078-00-92 Fuel Pressure Regulator/Damper
00112-141-13-80 Gasket
000-984-81-61 Clip

Ok update time... Still no start after replacing the fuel pressure regulator/dampener...Nothing...Disconnected the line at the rail and right after the fuel pressure sensor, blew air through the line, no obstructions...Removed the fuel pump, hooked it up to a fuel source and attached it directly to the battery; the pump ran like a champ! Checked the voltage out of the fuel pump control unit and only getting quick voltage readings before the voltage drops off; ordered/installed new fuel control unit; same thing happens... Reinstalled the pump and ran the outlet line to a container; turned key, and can hear the relay engage, no less than 10 times; no fuel...Try starting to see if I will get fuel; no fuel... No fuel flow restrictions from the tank to the pump... The only thing I can think of left is the rear SAM unit is not maintaining a closed circuit...What inputs does the car require to allow fuel to flow...Crank sensor has been replaced twice...Cam sensor maybe?

Once again, any ideas...

I'm about ready to part the car out and be done with it...
