Having an annoying gremlin after replacing both front wheel speed sensors, upper and lower control arms, tierods and added a front swaybar and endlinks from S500 with new rearward control arm.
Brand new Michelin pilot 4s all around: 245/45/18 front 265/40/18 rear.
Replaced both front wheel bearings and hubs
Cleaned to a crisp the hub rings that the speed sensors read
Had a professional alignment to finish off the job.
Brake pedal pulses and flashes ESP light radically. Speed is below 10mph when this happens. Went into limp mode once, triggered steady ABS light. Once out of limp mode, steering is tough like a truck. ABS light persists.
Hadnt seen limp mode since but hard shifting top of 3rd gear to 4th gear ~125mph
Have to take foot off throttle to upshift smoothly then back on WOT
Checked and checked and re checked the sensor connectors to fenderwell.
Star says "both front wheel speed sensors implausible" Tried another ESP ecu to see if that cures this. Didn't fix.
UPDATE:
Left front wheel speed sensor implausible.
Right front wheel speed sensor open circuit in wiring.
I've been through numerous sets of oe junkyard speed sensors and these codes persist.
Put on old oem hubs, pulsation went away only have tough steering now.
Clear it thru star, smooth steering for 20 seconds then boom tough steering ABS ESP malfunction.
This is getting ridiculous. The old sensors that have no problems before the removal are now junk. Nightmare.
