Mbrace Remote Start?
On the rare occasion when Mbrace Remote Start works on my 2016 S63C, when i go to open/unlock the car either by the door or key, the car shuts down because the door was unlocked or/and open. If you're trying to pre-warm the car, this is not what you want to happen. None of my other cars that have remote start work like this...the engine keeps running. Is this what you guys experience? Im I doing something wrong?

Useless mBrace Remote Start
Same here. So, I called mBrace and ask them why the car shuts off. After I went through about 4 reps who had to ask around because nobody had an answer, I was told it was for security reasons so that a kid can't get in and drive away. Really ? What a croc. I laughed and said thank you for a useless feature. How is it that a Hyundai can do it correctly and Mercedes cannot. Lame.

Thanks for the reply. I'm shocked how behind MB is with Remote Start. I've got a Ford pick-up and base Jeep and their remote start works great every time. The Ford and Jeep have security features; once the door is open, you have limited time to put the key in or the car will shut down, and the car can not be put into "Drive". The problem is MB is too cheap and/or lazy to put money into Remote Start and decided to use an outside vendor instead that is helping to give the MB brand a bad name. When i got my S63C, and i could not get RS to work (and still can't), I have called Mbrace (many times) on one occasion they told me it would not work if the car is in the garage! Are you kidding me!...what BS. How many MB buyers don't use a garage? Now they keep marketing me to sign up for more Mbrace features...yeah right. To think I traded my 2013 BMW M6 for this...so disappointed. Btw, Remote Start does not work when I'm out a a garage either.

Forgot one more thing
Forgot one more thing. The mBrace customer service rep told me that in order to keep the service working well, I have to press the tool button once a month and wait for the system to call mBrace (connect, hear the message and hang up). I mean ... why even bother releasing the remote start feature if it's so antiquated.

I have owned many German cars and loved most of them but consistently find the manufacturers unresponsive to consumer needs and suggestions. Their attitude is always extremely Germanic..."We know what we are doing and need no input or criticism from a lowly customer." I remember when they strongly resisted for years putting cup holders in their cars despite the outcry from customers. Eventually they had to give in.

I just took delivery on a 2017 GLS450 a few days ago. I have given up on MBrace Remote Start. I'm embarrassed to own a 2017 Mercedes that doesn't have a working Remote Start solution. My previous MB, a 2010 E-Class had the MidCityEngineering remote start installed by MB. It worked great. Maybe MB should outsource this out to them, http://www.midcityengineering.com/
Once started with the MidCityEngineering remote start, if I entered the car and touched the brake, gas or turned the steering wheel the car would shut off. Inserting the key in the ignition and turning it to the start position allowed me to drive.
