Order placed and now locked
My 2017 coupe should be built by the 3rd decade of October. My dealer provided what I think is a conservative estimate for delivery. Production +60 days if customs works as expected. Time will tell.
I just wanted to say thank you for the good bits of informs I found here. From some of the options to winter tires. Looking forward to reading more interesting stuff.

I have to smile when I see 5U5 / 610
For MB to do this on the flagships is
a lack of tact on their part
H16 is so much better than just black
Let me know if you are thinking of
tinting and paint protection
The dealer does not use the best
shops to do these tasks for them
They are looking for who will do
it the cheapest so they can pocket
more of your money
Now the wait
I suggest Macallan 18

For window tinting I would only have
Rudy at Mr. Tint and Sun tint your new car
Best tinter in the country
When Jimmy Barrier owned the dealership
they went with someone who would do it cheaper
for the customer's car so they could pocket more
of your money
But when Jimmy would get a new car every couple
of months he wanted his car tinted by Rudy
For paint protection I would only have
Eastside Auto Salon (EAS) do the paint protection
Ben is the best there is at applying the film
They only use Xpel premium paint protection film
Ben and Jay do all the work unlike some shops
where the owners just talk about their race team
or their racecars and they are not even racers
while a hired worker does the work
Mr. Tint and Sun / EAS are in the same building
so your car gets done all at once
EAS is also the best detail shop to go to for
exterior / interior detailing
Joey is your man for detailing

As to your question regarding tint %
35% is what is legal on the sides and back
It's not the color of your car but the color
of your interior
With black interior 35% will be much darker
than if you had tan interior
For the windshield I would go with 50% which
will make the 35% a little darker appearing
The lower the number the darker the film
All of the films reject about 99% of the sun's
ultraviolet rays
The ultraviolet rays are what damage your dash
as well as your seats (also your skin)
It will look very elegant yet very hot
And I am still recommending Macallan 18
In fact I am drinking it right now

this is the only place I would go to have them
mounted and balanced in Bellevue
