Looking forward to your pictures, and don't forget to get external paint protection which as an aside also makes Obsidian Black look better (same color as Dorian!)

Maybe you can consider using the savings in price to retro fit CCBs. CCBs provide a better experience, save money in the not that long run, and look awesome. If you intend to keep the coupe for more than 1.5 years, and drive it the way it ought to be driven, you will save more than you spend. I have an older thread on that with the invoice.
Dan,
I am already looking into having CCBs put on the car. I take delivery of the car on Wednesday and then its off to get a full ceramic coating!

Nothing degrades a Mercedes like red calipers -

Ask yourself what is the difference between

200k and 210k -

You will have serious regrets about any option

you wanted but thought that you should be

watching your costs -

To change once your Coupe has arrived it

will cost big money to make your Coupe

the way you should have ordered it -

Again - stop and think as you are purchasing

the top GT produced -

Don't cut corners -

Do it right -

.

I have to ask why you decided against ordering

your COUPE with CCB's instead opting for the

$700.00 "RED" caliper option -

You have posted that money was / is not the issue

and now you are talking about a $26,000.00 retro-fit

of the CCB's -

The reason I am asking is the reason(s) most buyers that

don't check the CCB box when ordering give -

"I heard that they squeak - make noise - I don't drive hard"

or my favorite "The salesman recommended against getting

CCB's because..."

The benefits of CCB's have been posted over and over in this

sub-forum and the math regarding CCB's vs. steel brakes

(Math 101) has been explained again and again -

In fact most posts against having CCB's come from owners

who don't have CCB's (W222 / C217 forums) -

While I applaud your decision to up-grade to CCB's

I am just curious what your mindset was for not checking

the CCB box when you placed your order -

Thank-You

<please correct me if I’m wrong>

He found a coupe that is already here in the US and that was configured very closely to his specs. He also got a large discount because he did select CCBs on his build, and since that coupe didn’t have it, he’s doing the best next thing which is the retrofit.

With some luck I hope the discount will cover the retrofit, or most of it.

Dan, that is exactly the case. As of today, the car is getting a full XPEL treatment and I am already talking to my dealer about doing a CCB retrofit. For now, the car is amazing just as it is!

The dealer was able to locate a coupe that was very similar to what I wanted (actually a bit better as for the interior imho) and I also got a very good deal on the car. I am already in talks with the dealer about putting on some lovely CCBs.

You should be able to get around 6.5% off on a 2020 if it is being built to spec, likely more if it is sitting in inventory. That should cover the cost of the CCB retrofit over the option cost, with some money left over if the dealer gives you a 'brake' on the parts and/or labor.

When I picked up my car, I was told the dealer margin had been reduced to below 6.5% for 2020 S63 Coupes, but that could well have been a strategy to keep me from negotiating further.
