I would really appreciate if you help me a bit on this one. Here are two "issues" I am facing right now;
1. My car has given me a message to add oil, which I did and added 0.6 liters (0.6 quart) of WRONG engine oil.
To be precise, it is Shell Helix Ultra 5W-30 AM-L, it says MB Approval 229.51 and for Mercedes-Benz high-performance engines. Did I screw up or I can drive with it safely and forget about it? I know I should have added 0W-40 AMG oil - well, next time....
2. After I added oil, no more messages appeared, but I can't locate the stick to check my oil levels now? Attached are photos of my engine bay, can anyone, please, point out to me where the stick is?
I cant speak to the oil, but my thought is that should be ok, just make sure you use the proper oil going forward I don't believe these cars have an actual dipstick anymore. You have to use the electronic measurement control for the car.
No e-measurement in the pre-facelift cars (only in the S65 and in the facelifted S63 also). The purple top of the dip stick on the right, lower half of the engine, is shouting at you: use me!
229.51 is definitely not the proper oil. That being said .6L won't hurt anything, being that the engine holds about 9L total. Make sure to get fresh 229.5 spec oil and OEM oil filter in there at next oil change, which should be done every 5,000 miles

Yes, I did that walk around too. Felt silly but happy. So beautiful especially with the carbon fiber cover.
