It's a bug. I had this issue for a while after the new app was rolled out and it also showed a generic covered car on the Mercedes me connect website. Had to contact their support several times and eventually they resolved it. I looked into it myself and what's happening is that the app and the website sends your specific car configuration to the MB online configurator which then returns a render of your specific car. What happens is that for certain configurations, the configurator throws an error, perhaps it's missing some necessary data for the specific model. When this happens the app and website just display a generic image instead. They have to fix whatever is broken with the configuration for your S65 in their system, so that it doesn't error out.
