MERCEDES S63 AMG 4 MATIC
S63 AMG transmission overhead problem

hello there,

I have a 2015 model Mercedes S63 AMG coupe (C217) 4Matic 7G-Tronic

Now 70.000 KM, in heavy traffic the transmission oil goes up to 120 degrees celcius (arround 250 Fahrenheit) and the gears are knocking and fan cooler working so fast, I just changed the transmission oil cooler radiator (A 099 500 03 00) and valve (A000 500 30 40), and water pump (A0005001986) and change gearbox oils -filters. the temperature problem still persists, what is the cause of this? I would like an explanation,

I'm thinking you've got a faulty trans temp sender, anything above 220°F sustained will kill your trans. Me, 2015 S63 with an OE stage 1 tune, I'm currently in Las Vegas with daytime temps running 91° to 101°F and my trans temp hasn't gone above 190°F, even while manual shifting and hi speed runs on the 250mi 98° run between CA & NV. Temps as high as yours should force the car into limp mode, if that isn't happening I'd bet the computer isn't seeing the same temp your dash is displaying. Was the trans fluid burned when you changed it? Have you manually verified the high trans temp?

The charge coolant pump does double duty of supplying coolant to charge cooling and the transmission cooler. There is a switch-over valve in the cooling circuit. Monitor it’s function with XENTRY. With XENTRY you can manually operate the valve and monitor duty cycle to the charge coolant pump.... though I’ve thus far been unable to ask the charge cooling pump to operate or monitor charge temps. Bit of a NOOB with XENTRY I am still.
