2018 GLE AMG 63S Turbo Issue
Hi, we have a 2018 GLE AMG 63S coupe with 81,000 miles. The engine light came on this week, and the dealer said we needed a new turbocharger. The price is $13,000. They also said that the engine needs to be removed. The vehicle has always been serviced at the Mercedes dealer, and we have always done all recommended service.
A few questions:
1) How common are turbo charge replacements for this model?
2) Does the replacement price, $13,000, seem reasonable?
3) Should we consider an after-market turbocharger? If yes, which one?
We appreciate the advice.
