Aftermarket Battery options
Is there any aftermarket battery options for these? Mine is probably due at 10 years. Completely dead after 6 months, of what was supposed to be temporary storage while doing house renovations.
Going to throw it on a trickle charger and see whats up.

10 years old, and you're living on borrowed time (lol). Any auto store can install a new battery for you. MB buys batteries from the same sources as Autozone, OReilly, Napa, CarQuest, Pep Boys, AdvanceAuto, etc.

Unless I am misreading, these have a Lithium Ion battery that lasts between 5-20 years. $2500 at the dealer.
Worked fine before I parked it for 6 months. I have one more year on CPO 5 year warranty so I may be forced to use the Mercedes part. Although the car is now tuned with mid pipes so the warranty is probably trash anyway.
Really want to drive my car!

Your opening post neglected to mention lithium, and being somewhat rare in application, I mistakenly assumed your battery is AGM. Sorry about the error. Have your searched the forum on this topic? I think I recall reading about replacing the lithium with AGM and re-coding the battery management system.

Not sure what price and availability are for a MB OE lithium battery, or what BenzNinja charges for AGM recoding, but the convenience, price and availability of an auto store replacement would justify going AGM for me.

So if this happens to anyone else. If the lithium battery is dead, its fuggin D-E-A-D. You can’t jump or charge it to wake it up.
The emergency trunk release is between the rear seats behind the arm rest. May take 2 people and a set of channel locks.
The new battery from Mercedes is around $2,000. Its a different size, different country of origin. I am still trying to figure out how to properly install it. You need the tray and new style vent adapter.
It also comes without a charge. So I had to charge it. Remember to do that before installing it, luckily I had a voltage meter handy.
No need to program anything. Regardless of what the dash warning says just start it.

Also going to install trickle charger wires on it directly and tuck them up so I can charge it when it sits for more than a few weeks at a time. Same parts store kit I installed on my motorcycle.
