S63 engine shutters
OK I hope I don't have to post too much more on the site. I am noticing when I apply the break at a stoplight or stop sign The engine has a tendency to shutter almost feels like it wants to die. I have no idea what it is. I was told it could possibly be bad fuel but I always run minimum 91 octane . Can't find 93. Recently I had the oil changed about three weeks ago. Not sure if that's why. I am showing zero codes. Even when I run my scanner on it. Still no hidden codes. 57k miles on a 2011 S63. Spark plugs need to be changed? Vaccum leak? Out dated database?

Update on engine shutter.
I took my car in. The auto shop was able to scan my system and see that my #1 and 4 cylinder were misfiring. Enough to make the engine shutter here and there. But not enough to throw a code. Cylinder 1 misfired 56 times. #4 misfired 5 times. So I went to parts geek and ordered a few ignition could and new plugs. I'll be doing that next week to hopefully fix the issue on the shutter. I notice more lag on acceleration and shuttering at a stopped position. I will keep this thread updated as I progress. New plugs and cooks coming soon. Now I need to figure out the cylinder numbering.

Fuse for sunroof
Hi My 2008 S63 AMG My sun roof won't open, the shade opens but sun roof will not. Where can I find the fuse for the sun roof? And what fuse number?

Engine shutter outcome S63.
OK. I changed out the plugs and the two ignition coil's. However after I replaced everything then number four was throwing a code for cylinder for misfire. So I had to take it into my local repair shop . After diagnosing the issue they found that the company sent me the wrong plugs . I was sent Bosch a radium . And I needed to order the genuine Mercedes Benz plugs. Now the tricky part is it is the same plug serial number and part number . However for the S 63 AMG It needs to not have a R in the numbering. What was happening is I had the incorrect resistance and it was causing the engine to misfire. New plugs to know ignition coil's and she is running great. So if you have a engine shutter or misfire check your ignition coil's and replace your plugs .

Next stop should be a trip to the dealer to see if you're on the latest firmware.

MY2011 was the first year that the W221 had the Biturbo M157 engine. They had an issue with stumbling/stalling on many of the early Biturbos (S, E, etc.) which was more pronounced in the cars with stop-start. The dealer should have an update/re-flash that will fix the issue and, usually, help the transmission shift a bit more cleanly.

Appreciate this. they replaced the plugs to OEM plugs Z6SII3320 and it fixed the problem. its crazy to think such a powerful engine is fuel efficient stop-start. kind of a pain. but problem solved and shes back online. Bosch iridium's have the wrong resistance.
