2017 BMW M760i xdrive Vs 2017 S63 AMG
What do you guys think now M760 V12 Vs S63 AMG V8 ? I have been driving BMW M5 ,X5M for 8-10 years and was looking to switch to my first Mercedes- S63 AMG , but BMW dropped this V12 bomb at a bargain price and a fully loaded S63 AMG with CCB and M760 are at same price point ... S63 still 15-20K more...
2018 S63 is due for a facelift next summer with significant updates so that doesn't help either. I have never driven a S63 but love the overall styling and that interior just blows away the M760. My only interest in BMW is for that V12 engine and that sweet exhaust note it will generate. I also heard S63 transmission is jerky and the car also stalls and had a recall. Is that still an issue on the new 2016 /17 ?
What would you guys advise ? Get a nice discount on the remaining 2017 , wait for a 2018 facelift or M760 is the real deal now ? I know this is a Merc forum but anyone of you would be tempted to order a M760 over S63 ?
Thanks !

It's a matter of personal taste. Some will prefer the MB over this BMW. They're both nice for sure.
LOVE THIS CAR!
Here's one for sale.

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
S63 all day long .... that exhaust note of the m157 is second to none
i have an m550i and the trans take off is smoother because it's a traditional zf trans not an mct like the e63S and s63
get the s63 and don't look back... the 760 is rather boring on the exterior

I'm still waiting for BMW to fire their interior designer, specifically when it comes to the dash.
Everybody was excited/waiting for the new 7 series with the hope they'd come out with a beautiful looking dash to compete against MB's latest S-class/C-class (and now E-class).
Major disappointment. They just don't want to stray from those hideous and old dash lines.

I cant comment on drivetrains but back when I had my 2016 750i M when wife had my 2015 S550 we always felt the Benz was a better car. The BMW looks amazing in pictures but in real life it just looks cheap. There is just something off about the finishes especially around the dash. The BMW also has more of a cockpit tight feel vs a spread your legs and let the boys breathe feel of the Benz.
It was a great driving car but when you got in the Benz it just had a better feel to it and the BMW had the Marino leather while the Benz had the standard interior. The Benz just felt more solid in every way.
I actually took the Benz when I got rid of the 750 and its just been a great car although a little boring. Looks are subjective so thats up to you but the BMW does look more sporty in my eyes.
Drive both its the only way to tell do not go off pics. I agree if you buy used the pricing is falling very quickly where the V12 is an appealing buy.

Found myself in the same situation last year when it was time to get a new daily.
Drove the 760 and S63 (2020 and 2019 respectively) and came to conclusion that I liked both equally with a slight nod toward BMW in terms of overall comfort, performance was equal too.
Eventually decided on MB and the only reason was tunability, I am not happy until I can modify my car (mechanically only), leaving it stock always bothers me.
Now, my S has about 850HP at the crank and I think I am satisfied (so far) with the performance.
All services and recalls are taken care off by my dealer with no issues whatsoever but if that engine goes kaput I would be on my own.
