Had some seat time today with a friend at the dealer with the GT 63s.
Rocket on the streets and pulls HARD on the freeway. Surprised it’s weights as much as mine S63. Corners like it’s on rails, but too stiff for me as a daily.
Had the same impression.
Would beat me up too much in daily driving, especially considering the abhorrent condition of Chicago area roads.
Ended up with a new S63.
I liked the looks of it from some angles but when I sat in the back seat I was like... Heck no!. Too small for my friends and family. The S63 is a much better bet for me. It's a boat, so comfortable and my friends are always blow away by the pillows and soft leather of the back seat with gobs of leg room and height and actual space.
Wanted the performance of the GT, comfort and luxury of the S63 in the GT63s. Mercedes didn’t make it happened. Loved the W213 E63s, but the wife and daughter didn’t want to compromise on the luxury of the S63. First world problem.

Once you own an S Class it is hard to go down to a lesser model... sounds like you probably need the rear doors, if not the S63 Coupe basically offers what you wanted - S Class comfort with GT63 speed. And if it isn't fast enough, a conservative tune will make it quicker than a GT63S as the weight is basically the same (MY2020 S63 Coupe curb weight = 4,586 lbs).
For performance driving a DCT is far superior to the automatic transmission in the S Class and GT63. But owning a high performance car with an excellent DCT, I've come to realize a planetary gear auto is superior for driving around in traffic and at low speeds in neighborhoods. So I no longer consider the Mercedes 7/9-sp MCT a detriment.
