Just Picked up 15' S63

Hey everyone, after many hours of researching and debating on trading my LS460, I just picked up a 15 S63 in Design Magno Alanite Gray Matte with the exterior carbon fiber trim. Love everything about the car. It was just shipped to me two weeks ago. I've always modified my vehicles but with a beauty as sophisticated as the S63 I'm keeping things minimal.

So far I've tinted it, OBD lowering module 20mm, and added AMG courtesy spotlights. I purchased the led vents, a JBSPEED carbon fiber spoiler, android auto module, a renntech tune and mufflers. Only other mods will likely be some 21" wheels. Would love carbon fiber on the interior trim. I may look into wrapping the pieces or finding the actual trim.

I appreciate everyone's input to the forum as it helped me make my purchase.

Damn, nice pick up!!! Man, I really need those AMG door lights. So cool. I love them. Do you have a link to where you got them? Since I can't do anything myself I'll just have my dealer install them next time I'm in for service ;o).

Nice car, I think I was looking at that same one. Did you get that from Benz’s and Beeemers in Scottsdale about a month ago? I am on the east coast so I had a friend who lived close by go by and see it in person and drive it. Once he gave it the thumbs up I was going to get it but I drug my feet for a day to long and when I called the next morning it was already sold. Glad atleast it went to someone on here. Good luck with the new ride, should be incredible.

Dude that's crazy! I think I was on the phone with the sales rep when your buddy walked in. The rep called me and said "there's a guy in here looking at it right now but we have to give priority to local buyers." It was the only person to look at the car since no photoa were up yet. I told him to call me as soon as he leaves so I can make the deposit.

I appreciate the well wishes. So far it's been an incredible ride. I don't see many S63s in the DC area and especially not in this color.

That’s funny. Coincidently I am in the DC area as well. The sales guy told me he sold it to another guy in Maryland and I kind of thought he was BSing me but guess he was a honest guy.. that was one of the nicest equipped S63 I came across with the right colors. I have been looking for a while but in no rush to buy unless I find the right one. I like the prefacelift look better than the 2018+. Plus the 2015s are staring to fall in the price range I am willing to spend. After missing out on that one I almost bought a Lunar Blue one that was completely loaded but right before I picked it up it had a check engine light and they determined it was due to low compression in one of the cylinders. It was a high mileage car and that was about the only thing that would have deterred me from buying it. Really liked the Blue but I think your Magno Silver looks the best.

That's very funny! I actually had a similar thought process in my buying/search. I prefer the 5.5 and the preface lift look minus the steering wheel (will change eventually). Sport + is cool but not necessary for me and the prices on the pre face lift are incredible right now.

I've never seen the Lunar Blue before. I was looking at one in Dallas that was white on white and fully optioned (designo interior and exterior, CCB, rear executive seat, warmth and comfort package, etc) But it sold before I could get the shipping quote. That's when I saw this one.

That's a shame about the engine on that Blue one but glad it reared its head before you closed the deal. If you want to get together after you grab yours or just to check out the Magno Silver let me know. COVID protocol of course lol.

It had 110,000. They were going to sell it as a used car but wouldn’t sell it until they were done with a thorough inspection. The car needed some work before they were going to put it in the lot but I talked them into selling it to me as is and I would do the work. I was a hand full of minor things, needed a full service but nothing major. Cosmetically it was perfect inside and out. So I went to see it in person in NC to pick it up and thankfully the check engine light surfaced right before I purchased it. The dealership was great to work with and never tried to sell the car once they knew there was an issue. The whole deal was going to be too good to be true anyway... just glad it never happened.

I'm really glad that one worked out for you.

yea it's been too cold. Looking forward to the warm up. I'm by the National Harbor but I'm a Realtor so I'm all over the DMV all the time. I hadn't really had a chance to drive it with all of the snow events and being on summer times. I took it out on route 50 early this morning. I suspect you're in Montgomery or Howard County?

Good stuff! I pass through there on my way to PA or going to my buddy's in Westminster. We'll definitely have to hook up sometime.

that’s interesting but glad you dodged that bullet. My 5.5s63 is coming up to 100k quick as I daily drive it. I’m unsure when I want to commit to selling it or trade in being IMO the 2021 are not my taste.

im currently in NC I’d be curious to know what dealer had that car.

also congrats to op on your purchase! Beautiful car.

Everything pretty standard, after the warranty I just do the work myself now except for the oil changes I take It to eurofed.

So far.. my biggest issues were the timing chain cover leaking oil, and a cracked rim.

Car truly is worth every penny I've spent on it and a joy to daily drive.

Slight update: I had the R1 Renntech handheld tune, BMC air filters and Renntech Mufflers done at my local dealer last week. The power has reached insane levels now but the best part is just the overall driveability of the vehicle. Everything is smoothed out from throttle response, to shifts, to pulling off in 1st or 2nd. This tune made this car more fun to drive which was tough to beat un-tuned. And the deep tone of the mufflers sound REALLY good.

I've been busy getting some things done to the Merc. Removed the burmester 3d subwoofer. That thing was a joke. Not sure why such a crappy subwoofer was included as a $5k+ option but unfortunately I'm not surprised. Replaced it with a custom mounted JL audio w7. Was able to keep the same amount of trunk space and it balances out the sound perfectly.

Also added illuminated vents and android auto. I'll add some better pics shortly.
