M279 makes a loud ticking noise
**HELP ANYONE** My 2015 S65 suddenly makes an abnormally loud ticking sound after a quick pull in the highway yesterday. So I checked the engine oil level and it actually needs 1.5 quarts of oil but the low oil warning never showed up. I topped off some oil and the noise is still there. Then I tried using seafood when I flush the old oil away and replaced it with liquimoly 5w-40. The noise is still there... I changed all 24 plugs, idler pulley and serpentine belt and still no luck. There is no check engine or any sort of error codes car runs perfectly. I even brought it to a indie Benz specialist to get scanned and still nothing. Can anyone help me diagnose where the noise is coming from. I'm also convinced that this is not the purge valve. Thanks!

I cant give you a definitive answer as I don't know much about the S65 motor. The noise reminds me of a chronic report from everyone that has a M156 motor that results from the lifters. There isn't a real solution or fix to the problem and the only remedy is an oil additive Liqui Moly MoS2 which is reported to reduce the lifter noise. Ive used MoS2 for years and it has reduced the tapping but its never actually gone away. Check out the video below and see if that noise is the same as what you are reporting. Also, I wouldn't be overly concerned about the 1.5 quart shortage of motor oil.
