Airmatic compressor fuse blowing but not instantly
I got the yellow malfunction light one night while diving and when I stopped, the front end was dropped low.
Ended up being a blown fuse, so I replaced it with a fuse with identical ratings. It worked to raise the car back to normal level but blew again after a little driving resulting in the rear dropping low this time.
Replaced it with a fuse from the dealer and it worked perfect for a day, raising and lowering the car no problem but blew the next day and the front is low again.
Replaced it with a similar fuse as the first time (since it’s the weekend and dealer is closed) to get some air in and get me home. The compressor worked for about a minute (maybe less) and the fuse blew.
Anyone have any ideas why the compressor would be working only for a short period of time (longer with Mercedes fuse, shorter with generic fuse) before blowing?

i ended up taking the compressor out yesterday and it wouldn’t turn at all after applying 12V. Opened it up and there ended up being an a short on the motor because the winding insulation was burnt. Dealer quoted me $1750 (Canadian) for the part so I went aftermarket with lifetime warranty with relay and filter for $450.
