S63 Lithium battery available?
Looks like I need a new battery. Is the original type lithium battery available again from M-B or is AGM + Benz Ninja recoding the only option? I don't mind paying for lithium if available.

I just got my 2016 S63 back from the dealership. Original battery and alternator. Vehicle has around 60k miles. Battery finally failed and alternator. Had them both replaced. Battery was in stock, alternator had to be ordered. Vehicle is back to 100%.

Yesterday tried to charge it so I could at least drive to the dealer. Hooked up a Noco Genius 10 to red (+) terminal and chassis post under the hood, set on "Lithium". By 6 hours the horn started chirping every few seconds which was disrespectful to my neighbors so I disconnected the charger. Measured 2.7v across the terminals so obviously not much progress.
I want to try removing the lithium battery from the car and charging it directly across the posts. However, the Noco should only be used with lithium batteries with with a built-in Battery Management System (BMS).
So my next question is does the S63 lithium battery have built-in battery management?
Then lastly how to cleanly remove the plastic clips in the truck panel to access the battery?

My local dealer (Long Mercedes Chattanooga) has none in stock and states they're on national backorder. Only available by special order from Germany. Can't be air freighted so would have to ship by sea. ETA unknown, could be months.
mbpartscenter.com aka Scottsdale Mercedes has them in stock, I placed an order, they charged my credit card, then two days later sent me an email stating they won't ship it because "hazardous item". WTF!
www.mercedesbenz.parts has them, I added to cart, but couldn't check out for the same reason.
I ended up getting an Antigravity 94R 80Ah lithium battery, got fedex tracking # within an hour, and should be here in a few days. It doesn't have the MB data port like the OEM battery so I will ask @BenzNinja to recode. This solution retains the benefits of an OEM lithium battery (FWIW) plus adds remote-activated jump starting which is a neat feature.

Just a thought, have you considered going AGM and coding, sending out the battery to be rebuilt/refurbished (eg: https://www.bulldogbattery.com/battery-rebuild/) then restoring when the lithium gets back?
or AGM until OEM lithium ever becomes available.

Totally ridiculous situation. My local dealer in Seattle has them. Maybe you can find someone fairly close to you buy it from their local dealer, then have them ship it to you via UPS. Probably not the best idea, or cheapest option, but it gets you what you want. My local dealer price is $1900 FYI.

.
For those who read this
Best practice is to get 90+ amps as higher as better as long as it fits
76-78 AGM has caused warnings
don't rely on this model's size check yourself
