2019 S63 4Matic+, 2018 E400 Cabrio, wardens car.
I have not seen one out here in the Seattle area yet but I imagine it is scary fast. My 2019 S63 is no slouch but I expect the new one to be stupid fast. Probably more than you can really use on US roads. I am not sure why you would need more than 6-700HP in a big body benz but hey, drive what you want. I am not a fan of the W223 platform as it looks way to conservative on the exterior for my taste and the interior is laughable with the tacked on giant screens and weird looking vents. That is why I purchased my MY19, that and the fact that I was not prepared to wait and probably spend north of 200K on a car.

When comparing the new S63 versus the 2018-2020 model, the new one is only 2/10th faster in 0-60. 3.2 seconds versus 3.4 seconds, and around the same for in a quarter mile run. With the new one you get more tech, a lot more weight and spend a lot more money. I find the interior of the new one more appealing, even with the screen on the middle. The one feature I wish I had was an electric motor for a quick cruise to the grocery store without any wear an tear on the ICE.

Picked one up a couple weeks ago

I picked one up a couple weeks ago & it’s an amazing car. I haven’t hit a thousand miles yet so I’m yet to drive it aggressively but the acceleration is so smooth & driving around town in electric mode is such a pleasure. So far getting phenomenal gas mileage with the hybrid system. Around 25-27mpg so far

2019 AMG S 65 and too many other vehicles to list here in this small box
The batteries and electric motors are a negative aspect for me when considering a purchase of one of the top luxury performance vehicles in the world. Dragging around that electrical system is an undesirable feature not worth the cost or weight IMO.
The S63 has a purpose in the Mercedes world and it's signature note is that gnarly sounding exhaust note, that tells everyone what this car is all about. Then you put your S63 it into all electric mode and it makes some wimpy weird audio sounds to let the world know that this is an electric car and it is starting to move? Nope, that's not what this car is suppose to be about.

As far as styling... the W222 is much better looking inside and out. Again, all opinions count when it comes to style but I have to ask... Where is the hood ornament?

I have a W222 S63 and agree with most of your points. However, I would love to have the ability to make a quick grocery store run, or quick trip anywhere, in all electric mode sometimes. 4 reasons: 1.More effecient. 2.Reduce the chance of an RMS failure, or at least extend the interval. 3.Stealth mode just seems cool to me...LOL

But the hood ornament delete and overall styling cause me to never want to own a W223 S63.

I understand the ornament part but what else don't you like about it?

Pretty much everything @SemperFi said above. If I were to rank what I don't like it would be in this order; complexity, value, price, styling, weight. For me Value and Price are connected but not the same. The price is serioiusly steep in real dollars. As far as value; what little more you get in terms of performance benefits is not worth the extra coin; anybody can make their own value judgement because it's 100% subjective. And when you combine weight with complexity; it makes the long-term cost of ownership ridiculously high. That 2-speed transmission for the electric motor scares me; it's located in an area that would take 20+ hours to service. It's like adding a 2nd potential RMS type failure point to a car that already might have an RMS issue. While I "trust" MB, physics always wins in the long run. My 18 S63 is already far more complex than I'm comfortable with, but still worth it to me.

I understand, value is something you well... Value
.. and have desire with. Price is just a tag and what a company/seller thinks it is worth it.

2025 S63. 2022 911 Turbo S, 23 BMW M5C
We just got our 2025 with 4000 miles on it, $41000 off MSRP, delivered on Friday to us. Believe you me... if I could have found a 2019 or 2020 to replace out totaled 2018 from 5 mos ago we would have, but every car we looked out country wide didn't have the features we wanted. I couldn't believe we couldn't find one...

So my smart wife said to look for a new car with miles and we bought the cheapest one in the US for $174950. It's $90 -$80k more than the older car but it is what it is. The car seems fine so far, very complex but over time I guess we'll learn how to use the features that we don't understand yet. The interior screen which I despised since it came our years ago, I've already gotten used to and kind of like. I prefer the older car but darnit, we just couldn't find an excellent example. My wife loves the new car and most importantly, it carries our bikes so that is amazing. We needed a car to carry our bikes like our 2018 did, it trumps everything.

As far as speed, we just drive the car like a Camry, to do errands, meet up with friends, weekend trips, we don't drive it for maximum speed, we just drive it like a regular car and it is comfortable and nice to look at. The trunk is comically small, but ... yeah, it's just our new car. We don't care. We'll deal with it. It's our very last car, we plan to keep it forever and it looks very much like our last 2018 in color, interior and exterior.

Congratulations Steve, it truly is something to celebrate!!! As far as the video screen; I learned to really liek it when I had the W223 S500 as a loaner car for a couple months. I think it looks better in person than in pictures and videos, and it works so much faster than the old unit. I found myself using "hey Mercedes" a bunch to do almost everything that would take my eyes from the road. If I could have that system in my 2018 I'd go for it in a heartbeat! as an overall packkage, it might not be my first choice, but it is undeniably and excellent automobile. I'm sure you'lll have many years of troublefree miles in front of you. Keep us posted please

If direct commands is enabled the Hey Mercedes part can be omitted.

They are incredible vehicles. The electric is limited range but offers a good fail-safe if you don’t want to run the ICE.

Regarding mileage, my 2020 S63 netted 27.2 mpg over 900 miles from the Carolinas to New Jersey. A good mix of morning rush hour traffic, lots of construction and single lane driving, and approximately 150 miles on county roads and finally tuesday evening rush hour when I entered new jersey.
Average speed over the 900 miles was 67 mph.

I was quite impressed, actually very impressed.
