Just picked up my 2nd S65 !
Hello all
i have been quietly observing the forum last few years since I sold my previous S65 (w221) . I am happy to say I got my dream car again ! Just introducing her here .
2015 59k miles
absolute mint .
Was surfing for last 6 months and found the one I wanted with the color combo . My 09 S65 was in excellent shape when I last bought and this one is on par and if not better . Flew in to pick it up with wife and had a lovely 1400 miles trip back . The luxury element has truly gone up compared to the w221 . Moves effortlessly. Touch 150 mph a few times and smooth as butter . I’m super happy and excited and wanted to let my fellow S AMG guys have a look at her .
Pics attached .

You've owned awesome cars in the past so you know better than anyone what to expect. What are your expectations for potential repairs over the next few years, if any? Just curious...warranty or not? To me, driving without a warranty is like going in without a condom...LOL Not asking about your sex life, just about the car.
I bought my S63 last September and I'm driving without a warranty. My thinking is to buy one in the next 1-2 years, only after I have some time with it to maybe better predict what might happen down the road. If something happens before then I'll eat the cost and chalk it up to learning experience. Plus, my car only has 43K miles, and I think I want to be covered when it's in the 50K to 80K mileage range. The guy who post on this forum has better warranty options than what the dealer offered.
Also, what did the Carfax and maintenance recoreds look like when you bought?

This one I picked up from v v high end dealership HGREG LUX in Pompano beach Florida . They were excellent to deal with first of all . Probably the smoothest car transaction for me . Thorough inspection done and only tires were needed which were replaced by them . Brakes suspension etc are in good shape . Knock on wood drive mint on the 1400 mile trip back to NY. I’m gonna keep my eyes open on the warranty option .
The warranty person u mention here is I think Trenton from Highline autos . He gave me a quote for abt $9500 for 6yr 60miles with 500 deductible. But to my surprise when I called the three dealerships around me they said they don’t work with fidelity . I’m gonna double check again with service advisors or service managers cuz that just doesn’t sound right .
As you said I know what to expect with these cars but IMO w222 is more joy than pain , especially when compared to my w220 .

I had fidelity platinum warranty on my s55 for the entire 6 years of ownership and that saved me lots of $$ . On the s65 prior I had no warranty during 3 years of ownership and besides reg maintenance I only had the to replace the alternator and battery so that was good....

Like I mentioned over email, I believe you were talking to finance managers at those dealerships, they're the ones who will tell you Fidelity bad, then try to sell you their policy. The service advisors... especially at 3 different dealerships, should have nothing but great things to say about working with Fidelity Warranty Services for repairs at their service departments.

Congrats OP. You will love your 222 car. Mine has been wonderful to drive. 135,000 miles on her now. I’ve got to do some repairs. The 222 is much easier to live with than the 221 car.... Much less babysitting.
OP how do you like Magic Body Control? I love how driving roads that make other cars toss the occupants heads from side to side the car is serene. Sport mode is fun. My biggest gripe.... 221 hydraulic power steering made for much better steering feel than electric assist in the 222 car.
Edit: OP if you are going to reach for an extended warranty get Fidelity Platinum. I’m in the business. Sooo many other extended warranties are just garbage for a lot of money. Fidelity pays and coverage is excellent.

And yes I’m v familiar with fidelity , they are top notch . Used them for 6 yrs on the s55 . At the moment my priority is getting the car ceramic coated and also checking out rear pads although the inspection report says they are good .
Unfortunately I’m not v handy with cars but will learn now . Handy with household stuff tho lol so the wife loves that .

My car is black with same interior as OP but with Piano Black wood. Carbon Ceramic brakes.
Love it. Didn’t think I would like the white interior. All my previous MB have been black.black.black. I was wrong.
OP you’re right. There is just something magical about the Bent-12. I’ve loved all my V-12 powered cars. 222 S-65 is the absolute pinnacle for me.
