Sorry to hear about your accident. Don't forget, the roads were really bad in Montreal. I drove both our R320 4matic and our Infiniti G35 coupe (rear-wheel drive) today, and they were both ineffective on the side-streets that were completely iced out. The advantage of the R320 was on start off from a complete stop. Where the G35 was better, was that it understeered a lot less in turns.
If you need a good body shop, let me know. I'll send you to this good guy who does good work for cheap.
Take care

Snow is snow, and ice is ice. When available traction is poor, the awd system will always be better. When traction is nonexistant, as with ice, nothing will work aside from making your own traction with studs or chains specifically designed for traction on ice. Slow down if you must drive on or around ice. You'll at least minimize the damage you'll cause, lol.

I am glad you are okay and it is a good lesson learned for drivers in 4 wheel drive. They think just because they have a 4 wheel drive, they can be less cautious. I have seen so many SUVs drive too fast in snowy condition. The tires could be worn and ice is stil ice.
