C230 4MATIC head-on collision

These are some photos of the 2008 C230 4MATIC my wife was driving 3 weeks ago when it was struck head-on by an oncoming vehicle which lost control on a snowy road.

Although the damage to the front of the vehicle was significant, she only sustained a nosebleed from the airbag and a bruised right knee, probably from the steering column. She was out shovelling snow that night. Advil for a few days for headaches. She is fine now.

Wow, it's great that your wife got out just fine. German engineering and quality =

Looks like the car did a great job protecting your wife. Glad I convinced my Fiance to get one.

I agree. The MB safety features performed as expected. So many vehicles get the 5 star safety rating but in real life I see so many people involved in MVA's wlth prolonged symptoms following soft tissue injuries. My wife didn't even have to see a physiotherapist. She is a little apprehensive about driving in the snow, however, as she does not trust "the other guy".

2000 Jeep Sport 4WD winter tires, but still somehow lost control.
Driver did not have any obvious injuries. but apparently had her glasses knocked off.
Had only brief contact with her in police car exchanging insurance info.

Here is photo. C230, being lower to ground, kind of pushed fender, hood etc.
upwards on Jeep when they collided.

those aren't winter tires on the jeep. They are cheap all-terrain tires. Thats probably one of the reasons the jeep lost control.

Glad your wife is alright. Another life saved by a Benz. Im glad shes driving the new C class. This one is much stronger than the 1997 model one which was cheapened to save money. This one is reinforced.

Yes glad she is ok, I know how that feels. but yes thanks to the safety of the cars we all can walk away.
I "had" *RIP* a 2005 C230 that someone pulled out from a stop sign about 20 feet in front of me and I was crusing about 65mph, not too good for the car or the old Chevy Pickup the guy was driving. the truck ended up looking like a "U" when I was done with it. Tried to miss the gas tank area and nailed the rear axile and totaled out both cars, but hay thanks to the safe care, I can walk away. Shame I was just puting my hand back on the wheel at the time and the airbag blew it off into the windsheild. But its a cool crackup. Hope it does not happen to my C63 now, that would be a shame.
