Decisions Decision
Ok a Current 2017 C63s Sedan Owner. Love the car. Went yesterday to Dealer to see S63 and then fell in love with GT63s that dealer had on floor. Money is absolutely problem. listed at 180k+. Then I saw CLS53. Very nice and very similar to GT63. My C63s is valued at 55k.
For the money of GT63s I can keep both interior and looks of GT63s with CLS53 and C63s with AMG one man one engine.
Or forget all of this and go with custom GT63 (Not S) as I need one with Matte Grey , Red interior and Aero package with spoiler. Later on would think of tuning this to be S. Could still be 150k.
S63 is out of equation since once you see the new interior you kind off know not to buy any new Mercedes without it. You know that all MB would eventually be like GT (Turbo Vents), LCD Buttons . all other MB we saw looked very dated compared to CLS and GT63 or E class coupe.
So here i am with spending budge of 150-160k and can't make up mind. Oh and btw to make it more complex i need a 5 seater but managed to fit my young kids in GT63s yesterday by putting pillow on Center console ( I know sounds kind of cheap and illegal on a 180k car but trying to get family to buy in dad's fantasy
. I have GLS for people mover and might never put 5 people in car apart from short distance travel)
HELP HELP. Do you guys feel that way? is S63 even comparable to GT63? I am not a track guy but need a solid car for daily commute and my commute is very nice with probability of reaching 150 MPH daily.

I guess I am just getting old. These are not rational decisions. Only Emotional Decisions. I would work tomorrow with Dealer on custom GT63. My Self conscious is saying I am doing wrong. But it also said same thing on C63s
. GT53 is also in mix as I see dealers are putting it out on autotrader.

I guess a customer order on a GT63 non-s with 5 seater option would probably be the best solution for you,

Newbie
I had a CLS53 and traded it for a GT63 (non S). Both are very nice cars. The CLS is more of a casual cruiser that is fun to drive and is sporty plus I was able to drive 500 miles on a tank of gas with a 1/4 tank to spare. The GT63 is in a different league. It is crazy fast, handles great. Has more tire noise (from the 315 wides tires) than the CLS but is quiet overall and rides much softer than an E63. If I were you and you have the funds, go for the GT63.

Is it maybe that the non-s GT63 also rides softer than the S version?

Test drove it extensively and realized it would just beat me to death on Chicago awful surfaces, same ride as in E63.
The performance advantage over the S63 was just negligible in real life and could not sway me from choosing the incomparable comfort of the S.

im wondering if there’s a difference in ride quality between S and non-s amg models.

To be honest, I was not able to see any difference between both these cars (comfort mode), M5 Competition was a little bit better then both in this regard.
