Distortion coming from Burmester system?

Has anyone heard distortion in the midrange (I think) from their Burmester (non-3D) system? I have been using Apple CarPlay more frequently after almost 2 weeks of owning the car. The exhaust note is so great I was mostly driving without the radio. I can hear a fairly noticeable distortion in the mid to mid range of music at a comfortable volume level. I tested a few iPhones and different apps (streaming and downloaded songs set to max quality). It almost sounds like I have a blown speaker somewhere. I have changed the level settings on the radio and don't have an EQ running on the iPhones. I am going to do a bit more testing trying Bluetooth tomorrow.

Thanks in advance!

I have exactly the same problem in the midrange too only using Apple Carplay, iPod media and bluetooth don't have the issue. I tried to demo to my dealer but they couldn't hear it. Im glad I'm not the only one.

Thank you for letting me know! I looked around some of the other forums and others mentioned that turning off the auto adjustment for volume based on the noise in the car (sorry I don't remember the exact name) took care of the problem. I turned it off last night and I think the problem is fixed. I am going to test it tonight.

I have automatic volume adjustment off, the apple CarPlay has its own EQ/DSP settings (in a different menu then media, i don't remember which one). The distortion/static is very noticeable under the following conditions:
  1. Use Apple car-play
  2. balance fader set to either the far front left or far front right
  3. Equalizer miss dialed all the way up and the bass and treble dialed all the way down
  4. Play "Kryptonite by 3 doors down" via the iPhone music app
Extremely noticeable on mine! I have to go back to the dealer to demo this config.

Same problem fixed

To fix this I had to torn on the sound check function on my iPhone. Settings > Music > turn sound check on

I had this same problem and had to have the roof speaker behind the driver replaced as well as the amp.
