2020 GT 53 AMG
Brand New 2020 AMG GT 53 Engine died
Anyone else have this issue? I don’t even have 2,000 miles on the car! I did everything according to the rules of the break in period also and never drive hard or push the pedal to the floor. I don’t understand why the engine died.

Had to get towed today and the dealer said the engine is dead and has to be replaced. Insane...

Oh man... Sorry to hear about that. Was there any strange sounds or sensations or did it just kind of stall out?

I felt the car shaking slightly when at a light on the way to work this morning. When I got to work I heard a clicking noise, so I called dealer and they told me to bring it in early, but I didn’t make it and had to be towed.

So they are giving me a brand new engine and it was in stock. I get the car back next week. Still crazy that a car this expensive and not even 2,000 miles on it the engine dies.

Probably something came loose, rather than wear out. Still not excusable.

Document everything. Save your receipts and communications. Just in case you have to invoke a lemon law case.

Won't a new car with a replaced engine have diminished resale value? If so, how is Mercedes compensating you for that?

I leased the car, would never buy a German car, every Benz I’ve had since 2003 has had issues, all my friends bmws have had issues, etc. lease only, if I ever wanted to buy, I would buy Japanese.
