My AMG GT 63S sitting in Bremen all this week awaiting assignment to a ship
The cars just sit in Bremen until there are enough to fill a ship ... could be long

My car will be on the ship “Tysla”!!
SS Tysla... goofy name for a car ship with cargo of ICE cars... ETA will be Feb 6 Baltimore.... then how long does it take Daimler Benz to process a car and put on a transport truck to my Milwaukee dealer?

not to be a downer but my car is in Baltimore for more than a month. I also happen to have the worst luck with timing. They said with holidays, covid and snow storm they had the back log is massive. My dealer said same for Range Rover and other dealerships he own. Yours should be better than mine.

If there was a way that we could all apply pressure to get MBZ to move faster we all would!

here is the best part. I got my first installment on loan in mail for car that doesn’t exist in my garage. 🤪

Yea its slow going but we have our last few GT's come in finally.. the GT cars use a separate carrier vs the large haulers

My Nov 3 built AMG GT is on MV Tysla now docked in BeeZee, Belgium loading more cars
I hate to see these cold dry-pavement-sunny days... when I don’t have my AMG GT 63S to drive.. but at least it “escaped” from Germany and will avoid any icebergs enroute to Baltimore... where all the Mercedes staff voted for Biden and will put my car last in line for a transport to my dealer!( humor)

My car is on the MV Tysla
My AMG GT 63S is on the MV Tysla car carrier due in Baltimore 2/12/21: have heard of horrible MB bottlenecks in Baltimore facility getting the car onto transport truck to dealer. What happens in MB Baltimore to cause all the delays?

What happened is the car sits there for some time they inspect and make sure everything is ok and if needs to be fixed fix it. However as I posted before. They have big backlog. Mine was there for little over month. Now coming to me over weekend after dealer installed PPF.You may be lucky to have it in early march.

I love reading this thread. Fill of 1st world/ 1%ter problems 😂
My car is currently enroute to me today from California. I’ve been waiting for 3 weeks for this thing. I was supposed to receive it this morning but the transport had to wait a day in Dallas to pick up another vehicle. I’m pissed. I feel like flying out there this morning and getting my 63 and just driving it back myself.

I’m in the 21st week of wait since AMG GT 63S was ordered in Sept.
The car carrier MV Tysla is in North Atlantic due to dock in Baltimore Friday 1pm 2/12/21.... car will sit over weekend.... then USA Customs have to approve paperwork..then unload.....then MB inspection for any damage ... then logistics of loading onto transport carrier going to my dealers region..... so what other variables?.... Baltimore or truck enroute blizzard?... drivers getting Covid ?....MB cuts overtime delaying truck loading?...

My AMG GT 63S just unloaded off transport truck at my dealer in week 22 since ordered
My dealer is a combination MB and Porsche dealer. Having made friends with several of the Porsche service techs with my Panamera Turbo, I had them watch for the transport truck delivering my AMG. They alerted me and I drove the 4 miles to dealer to watch the AMG being unloaded. I got to inspect it.. all OK. Opened the hood to see that ICE engine was hand assembled in Afalterbach by “Omer Osbeck”. Now it gets the Xpel film installed along with Mercedes specified winter tires and wheels... and I can take it for it’s first drive.

Great news!!.. My car with XPEL is a head turner. Only guys turn heads which is still cool . I love the car so much. I got acoustics package and the ride is so much nicer than my C63s. This is easily a car I would keep for decade. At 550 mile today.

Hello Tommytrojan with your AMG GT 63S
I loved your reply and photo of your matte finish... in green grass great climate. Looks like Florida .the only Mercedes approved winter wheel/tire pkg available is for 20” wheels... so the 21” are now off the car and stored until Spring. I’m an engineer but do not want to do the math to see what rolling on 20” wheels will change to a car tuned to rolling on 21” wheels? I have a drive trip on March 10 heading from Wisconsin to Boulder,Co..... should I take the AMG... or the trusty reliable proven GMC Yukon XL?
oh.. what a decision!

1st 200 mile drive in AMG GT 63S today
WOW... I’m comparing the AMG to the Panamera Turbo...The “Hey Mercedes “ voice command and she does everything but drive the car. Responsive and fast like the Panamera Turbo... but the AMG is louder and more aggressive ...with so much tech it is like a candy store.... so ...Long live the I.C.E....I can take my Porsche jacket, hat, watch, sunglasses, shirt and store them in closet .The AMG is so great it doesn’t need any logo stuff to remind you you’ve got the best. Glad I waited 23 weeks!
