But I’m addition to that one of my wheels where the amg tab is, is completely black seems like there should be a chromed placard there or it’s finished incorrectly. I’ll get some pics tomorrow as I’m supposed to be taking actual delivery tomorrow. Cars been paid for since 4/26.
Well nice catch, not sure I would have noticed that myself. Pics would be great when you can and I’ll look at mine..

If you look really really close at the right rear wheel you'll notice theres not chrome on the "AMG" tab on the lip of the wheel like there is on the other wheels, heres the before and after of the frost ppf

Before

After "Frost PPF" & 5% Tints.

This is very interesting to hear. Wheels wise, mine appear to be ok but my style is different than yours. On the intercooler cover, please send pics and I'll check / compare.

Defects ( Right rear wheel and passenger IC)

Alright guys here are the pics. Make sure to go over your car with a fine toothed comb. Car is ready but now at the dealer as they let me know how serious the missing IC cover is. Let me know if you guys can see it too. Also, can someone provide me a pic of their car showing both covered?

This one may be a little tougher to see, if you look at the drivers side intercooler, you'll see a black plastic screen. This is missing from the passenger side.

Correct wheel, focus on the AMG tab o the lower left lip.

Defected wheel, focus on the AMG tab on the lower right. Spoke to my service manager at the dealer, he said it looks to be an incorrectly finished wheel, as these are not sticker tabs.

Looks like both screens in place on my car, different wheels as well without the finishing issue.

Glad you noticed it, I wonder if the VPC was supposed to catch this and correct it before delivery?

I am really sorry but, to my untrained eye, I don't see the flap you are pointing to. Can you please guide me?

Car is in for PPF, tint and clearplex. Removed the emblems for the full body PPF. Soliciting opinions on keeping it debadged or put the emblems back on. The Mercedes Star has to back on the rear panel since there are holes there. Polling among my car friends is to keep it debadged, but the more I look at it…thinking of putting all the emblems back on. I know personal preference kinda thing!

I found out I have the exact same issue and here are more photos. My passenger side is missing.

Did you ever get it resolved? Any hassle from the dealership?

do you drive a 23’ 63 non S version? From what I’m hearing (not sure how accurate ) the non S version has one less oil cooler, and that oil cooler is what’s covered on the drivers side. I’ve tried to dig for more info but since it’s so new it’s really hard to find anything.

Bingo, I picked up a 23 63 non-S. I know the dealer has another 63 sitting in their lot so I’ll ask the sales guy to check if that has the same “issue”. Might even visit a few dealerships nearby to check their inventory to see if it’s the same there.

Shift change.

This order guide is dishonest. They don’t say anything about moving the beautiful shifter to a column stalk and placing a crappy wrist pad in its place. Pictures are not updated.

I’ve already gotten used to it, and from a user interface/ergonomics it’s much better..although I agree the shifter knob and logo were cool for a GT type car.

AMG Driving Academy

Just registered for the AMG Performance and advanced driving courses at Sonoma June 21-23, since I can do them both back to back and COTA is pretty much full right now till 2024. Just incase you didn’t know the 1 day performance class is covered by the purchase of the car, anything else above that is out of pocket. Spots still open if anyone wants to come out to wine country😉

the order guide has a footnote that that the pictures do not reflect the interior facelift. Any idea what else has changed for 23 besides the shifter ?

This thread is making me super paranoid haha. I've been following the various "chronicles" here. I ordered a C63S last year in Oct, was built in January, but has not left the VPC yet. Not only am I paranoid about the shipping delay, I'm also worried options that I ordered may be missing or incorrect. If they did this to GT63s then my little C63 could be even worse since it's half the price. *fingers crossed*

Get a copy of the current build sheet from your SA, and you will see exactly what is included. Maybe there is a hold on your model at the VPC, inquire on that too. My car sat in Germany between the factory and the port for 3 months, and everything turned out OK👍

I have all that information, except for the cause of the delay. From what I gathered here, some items were missing [plastic parts] or unmatched [rims], which is what makes me paranoid. The vehicle was supposedly finished being built mid-January [ordered in Oct 22'], but has only now "moved to the dispatch yard" according to them. Hopefully it gets on a ship soon and it's not going to be 3 months. My lease expired end of April this year and I've been without a car [just Ubering since it's cheaper than paying for the lease].

Same thing happened to my car, never got an explanation either. Built Jan 11th, and not delivered until May 5th. The waiting sucks, but like I said previously everything turned out well.

Ya I mean, the GT is a driver's car, that shifter there just adds value, just like the IWC clock (although we all know it doesn't actually have an IWC movement)

I am guessing this was on the original guide? I guess it is something they think would be a big deal (guess it is in a way as it really distinguish the GT interior with other MB cars) wish they at least let you have the option to add the console shifter back, you know, for those who want it? Isn't MB all about options after all?
