there’s a lot I don’t understand for example, any reviews or videos I’ve seen of the 63 or 63S or 63SE performance has been from another country. I have yet to see anybody get the GT in the US now I’m not sure if that has to do with the same emissions regulations that stopped them from producing these cars last year but I do see the SL 63 in dealers, so I am wondering if it has to do with the actual car itself. So unsure. But when we’re spending 200k on a car an explanation more in depth than “supply chain issue” is in order.
That’s the last update from Netstar on my order, so who knows what’s going on. See if us cali’s car goes into production tomorrow 🤞

The build decade are groups of ten days in a specific month. My original build decade was 10/3 which would have been somewhere in the last 10 days of October. Was then 11/01, then a production date of 11/30…now 1/20/23….😝

Well... got the dreaded update. The production date moved from today (12/5) to January (1/31). Apparently there's a temporary factory freeze / shutdown. That's why mine + likely Dicecal's were pushed out.
The dealership thinks it is due to China's continued shutdowns impacting parts.

I am pretty sure that the Factory Freeze that this person is referring to is when your car actually hits production and you cant make any changes on your spec. From what I understand thats a normal code

Yeah I saw your convo w/ Cincy about your two orders. I also read online that it's very possible that we won't see any of our GT's coming in til 2nd/3rd q of 23. I am really hoping this isn't the case. is your delivery date still holding strong ? cause I saw your car was released from the dealer on the 17th which isn't tooooooo long ago.

I agree, my take away from the thread is there may be a US EPA certification issue with the V8 cars, but was curious how the SLs slipped through..

Yeah SL's made it through which eased my EPA worries. but it seems like our man dub dub will be the first of us to get one so well have to wait on his for some more comfort

Yeah, it will either be a GLE63s or a GT63 - my money would be on the GLE63s arriving sooner since its scheduled to be done this Sunday and the plant is in Alabama and I'm in Texas. So if there are any other delays from there, I'll know in a week or so. At least that would put the V8 EPA cert to bed if the GLE63s makes it without issue (it's a 2023).
now im remembering you had someone alter your GT order right? so you'll take either or, not both?

The GT would replace my GLS63 - but yeah the order was altered by someone and we caught it after the order was locked. So TBD on when it gets here and exactly what’s on it - and if I want to start over again with a new order or not. So I may have a pretty sweet GT63 in TX at my dealer if I don’t keep it.

sort of. The GLE is a replacement for my wife’s GLE580.
The GT would replace my GLS63 - but yeah the order was altered by someone and we caught it after the order was locked. So TBD on when it gets here and exactly what’s on it - and if I want to start over again with a new order or not. So I may have a pretty sweet GT63 in TX at my dealer if I don’t keep it.

I couldn’t have a slow truck then and got the ‘21 GLS63 so it would be faster.
The GLE lease is up in Feb so that’s when I placed the GLE63s order for her. And couldn’t live with her having a SUV slightly faster than mine so here we are with the GT63 order too. :sigh: I may have a problem.

And I credit the AMG Driving Academy for my interest in the GT. Driving that at COTA last year was amazing. I’m taking the advanced course this weekend at COTA again so who knows what I’ll want after.
