Hi, I wanted to ask if my 2020 GT63 non-S model has a rear axle steering feature. Earlier today, I was stationary, looking in the rearview mirror, and turned the steering wheel fully to both the left and right, but I didn't notice the rear wheels moving.
At least for the 2024, the active rear-wheel steering is standard on the non-S. Pretty sure it's always been standard on the GT63. However, on AMGs it only turns something like 3 degrees. You may not even visually notice this, especially in the rearview mirror. It's not like the 10 degrees on the new S Class and EQS. I just had an EQS 580 loaner for a few days and the 10 degrees turn is very obvious, but 3 degrees is not much.
Thank you for the information! I guess the best way to confirm would be to have someone sit in the driver's seat and turn the steering wheel while I observe the rear axle from outside. I'm bringing my GT63 in for service soon because the steering wheel's vertical adjustment is stuck, although it works fine when moving in and out, and the rear diffuser is popping out a little. If they hold my car, I hope they provide a good loaner with rear axle steering so I can experience what you're describing. Thanks again for taking the time to reply!
It is on my 2019 AMG GT63. The best way to tell is have someone srtand outside the car and look at the back wheels. Its very slight movement but makes a difference when turning.
