AMG GT43 gone

I bought my 2023 AMG GT43 (4 door) brand new and had it for 2 1/2 years and only drove it 17k miles. I just traded it. I'm sad to say I'm very relieved. The first two years the car was great. But ever since I had the service B done this past summer, It started having lots of problems. First, the rear spoiler stuck and wouldn't close. Then, I noticed that one of the wheels was warped (the center cap kept falling off and I bought a new ones - they never fit properly - it was a defect in the wheel). Then the A/C went completely out. The dealer said that it lost all of its refrigerant. They found the leak and fixed it. Then I noticed that the front air vents stayed open all the time, and the fan would run for long periods after turning the car off. This never happened before - and it was in the winter time. Dealer said it was working as designed, but I started monitoring the temp gauge and noticed that it was continuously reading hotter than mid range. I started to feel as thought the car was a lemon and decided to get rid of it. This was my first, and very last Mercedes I'll ever own.

The warning sign when I bought the car was the fact that the window sticker had a line item for blacked out trim when in fact it came with chrome. The dealer removed the charge for this during our negotiation- but in the back of my mind I wondered if the car was built on a friday. But after two years I had full confidence in it...until the issues started.

Sorry to hear that. I purchased a 53 sight unseen online as I've done a ton of cars. The dealer had 5 star reviews everywhere! When I received the car, it had door dings, paint imperfections, rattle from the headliner, wind noise coming from the mirror triangle, tint on 3 of the 4 rear windows, bad brakes, service indicator said service past due 363 days, two blown rear struts. I was livid. I distinctly remembering them pressuring me for a 5 star review after I made the deal. I told them, I would once I received the car. When I called them to ***** about all the issues, I then realized why they have 5 start reviews. First off the dealer said "well that's why you got such a good deal". I'm like **** you, I didn't need a good deal I needed a quality condition 53. I dug into the laws in that state and realized I was SOL. So, I threatened to leave a horrible review if they didn't cover the two blown struts at a minimum. They agreed to $800 and has me sign something saying I wouldn't leave a bad review as acceptance of the "good will" money. What a joke. After doing some research it appears the car may have been used as some sort of transportation service. Sort of like the limo services that drive black Tahoes.

When I went to get a tune up, the dealer indicated the harness to the coil packs had disintegrated and that he's seen this many times on this car. He stated as soon as they go to remove the coil packs the car won't start until that harness is replaced. $1400 for the harness and labor. Having realized this is a known issue, I called MB USA they gave me a good will credit of $700 towards that repair.

I general, I love everything about the car EXCEPT that weak (in my opinion coming from twin turbo V8s) V6. In hindsight I should have went with a 63. All the online reviews stated the 53 was the sweet spot, but the car sounds like a weed whacker. The exhaust is just pitiful and I have the sport exhaust. But I now have a 2022 SL 55 AMG and that makes up for it. I use my 53 a lot more now due to gas prices, because I have a heavy foot and my GL 550 and SL 55 AMG guzzle gasoline.

I will say MB quality ain't what it used to be.
