Question What type of discount can I get on SLK's these days?

I haven't posted here since 2002 and I am currently considering Mercedes-Benz once again. This time around, it's an SLK280 or --ideally-- SLK350, but I don't think I can afford that one. In fact, the 280 will probably be stretching my budged.

I was wondering what type of discounts dealerships are offering on these cars, if any.

I am in the South Florida area, but your feedback doesn't have to be region-specific.

TIA!

No set answer. Take your time and do some serious checking. With the 2007s at the end of the model year, now is a good time to wheel and deal with the dealer. If you're not in a hurry wait until the 2008s are on the lot. Also, consider used. I've purchased two used SLKs, both low mileage, excellent condition, with fantastic savings over new. Don't rush, take your time. Good luck!

Well, I'm looking to lease, not buy, so used won't be any good for me, unfortunately, cause I do know you can get better deals that way.

I have details on the latest captive lease programs and, based on MSRP, I simply cannot afford either of these SLK's. I am hoping to find a discount large enough to make my payments bearable.

What I'm hoping to find out here is what these cars are going for based on either MSRP or invoice so that I know how to negotiate with the dealer, whether they're really giving me a good deal or I'm simply asking for too much.

I would check carsdirect as a baseline for discounts...most dealers should be able to beat this by $500 - $1000 easily, sometimes more depending on other factors (your negotiation skills, inventory, etc.)

European Delivery can be an extra 7% discount which is a lot more than the cost of the plane ticket

Look for R171's on swapalease.com type sites. You can probably find one for a low/no down and a reasonable payment.

Thanks to your top, I just found a manual 30 minutes from me and contacted the owner. Shame it's a 280.

See the listing here.

Thanks!

SLK Discounts

Here in DC area, I had no problem getting $4K off a new SLK280. I believe 350s are seeing similar discounts. Also, I believe MB has special financing for May. I just got 3.9% for 60 months.

Not sure about Florida though.

Interesting. I was thinking the same, so I got printout from carsdirect and brought it to my local dealer. To my surprise he refused any discount from carsdirect price. Actually I should check another dealer, but was lazy and ended up by getting another car.

Don't give up on a new SLK. Lease rates were pretty attractive when I
last checked.

For whatever reason, many people in Miami pay MSRP and don't bother negotiating.

I think you would do well to contact dealers outside the SFL area
and ask for the internet manager as he usually has access to the best
prices.

I just noticed that Herb Gordon Mercedes in Maryland was quoting around $3500 off 07 SLK 280s & SLK 350s on their web site. And that is without any dickering.

And I agree with you, but production for the 2007 has already stopped and the closest manual the sales person I am working with found is so far, they/I would have to pay $850 for freight. This means there is NOTHING for me, even if I wait, until the 2008's come out. From what I've seen, I would guess at least 90% of all SLK's sold are automatic and can't help but wonder why. Isn't this supposed to be a fun car? Sounds more like a statement maker + hard-top combination, but not really sought after for fun.

I found and went to their website, but can't find where you saw this.
