What do you think of exhaust cutouts
I'm thinking of getting some and wonder if anyone who's had them can share their experience. I've read what I could find but nothing very current. Any cars with them on for years?
I have headers, 1st cat del., x pipe, and stock mufflers. I'd like to see if they can be installed right after the headers. I like the low rumble/open exhaust option vs. 63 mufflers which sound awesome, but not what I want all the time.

Vivid Racing did a nice U-tube a couple of years ago on a C-63 with their custom system.
Cutouts will defiantly rumble the parking garage but also get you into trouble.
Fun though

From what I've seen, they get stuck open/closed. My buddy has QTP cutouts and has had to replace them twice in the past few years. They covered it but you still have to put them back in. Love the idea and I'd get them myself but seeing others people experiences with reliability have led me to decide not to get them.

What other options are there?

He's kind of over it. The sound is definitely amazing when you open up the cutouts, no denying or arguing there. You just have to be content with knowing that you may have to R&R them in the future.
Other options? Modified stock exhaust that Hammer posted. Had a chance to hear one in person and it's really nice. Loud on the outside but the inside is surprisingly modest. Give it a nice aggressive tone.

Other options are resonator delete, secondary cat delete, or headers depending on what state your in.

I have a set of pypes cut outs that have been on for 2.5 years or so, I did have to replace one in the first few months but have never had problems since.

I bought these years ago. These things come apart or bind after a while. I tried thread locker at first on the screws but that didn't work. Ended up but dabs of Superglue on the screws and that worked to prevent the screws coming loose, but then the thing started binding up and not opening/closing properly. Ended up throwing it away. Perhaps they have improved the design since then though. Thumbsdown from me.
