Are you a modder? If so, you are probably going to want to throw a tune etc in to your car, change rims and so on, at which point you have negated some of the 507s benefits, so don't bother.
Are you the kind of guy to just drive it stock? Well, then, get the 507 cos thats the thickest and most factory powerful version you will get.
This is a good question, I've done a lot of modding on some other cars like corvettes etc, but never on my Mercedes, I'm thinking after 20k or so I'll start with the mods. If I did mod it would have to be mods that don't compromise reliability. Still the 507 is really tempting

Honestly man, if i were in your shoes, I'd keep the current car and just build on it / make it more unique. If it was for a c63S 2016 model, then maybe a game changer, but it's the same engine with the same aftermarket parts available, pretty much. You can slap on a supercharger on both the engines and will make roughly the same power, etc. IMO.
The specialized dual overhead cams that come straight from the GT version of the m159 are worth the price alone!!

You can flash a P31 car and have pretty much the same power, vents in the hood I feel rune the lines of the hood, so are a bit love it or hate it. You get the stripes on the side that I also don't think fit the car and you get different wheels that again may or may not be to your tastes.
I personally don't think it is worth the hassle, but if you the have to have a 507 feeling won't go away, then maybe it is worth the hassle.
All available information points to the cams being no different in the various C63 models - whether regular, P31, 507 or BS.
That was the point of that link. I am in agreement with you. I have never seen evidence of there being any difference in the cams. I have heard "I was told" or "this guy said" but have yet to read anything in official AMG info or from an AMG honcho. In fact, when you look at the 507 info pamphlet, I see no reason at all why that would not be mentioned with the other items.
I am sure there are better links out there that also refute it, but that was one I could lay my hands on quickly.

Part numbers are the same regardless also, base, p31, 507 even black series has the same cams - no difference across any c63 models.
And not to pile on, but it was mentioned that it was the cam from the GT version of the SLS, but thats the same cam as in the straight SLS if Im not mistaken. There is a different cam in the SLS BS tho.
If you want the power w a factory tune then 507 is the way to go. I have not had good luck w aftermarket tunes and factory drivability. Bucking surging issues are just not acceptable in a merc. Don't flame me... This is just from my exp w merc tunes.
So yes you can flash a reg c63, but for those who want merc drivability the factory higher hp car is an option.
Also a few 507's recd the upgraded cooling pkg.
I consider the 507 as one of the summit cars of the c63 run... The special swan song w the best of the bits... Styling tune wheels cooling hp tq .... A great way to end the series.
ahhhhhh. wise man betreza . im with you on that all the way . its the best c63 ever . and if i may gloat a little mine is mars red the only one i have ever seen and in your face absolutely drop dead gorgeous .

As a fellow 507 owner, I can't say that it's "the best C63 ever." That title is held by the C63 black series. It's a close second though.
objection your honor , may i speak . the 507 has nicer wheels , does not have that gaudy 1990's japanese car spoiler your son's friend also has on his car . it has a revised engine and trans ,seems to be to me anyway ,a little quieter , not quite as extreme bodywork , give you the front bumper looks hot on the black , but all in all a classier car .put anyone of them on a track with a pro shoe and you will get the same results . just about as rare as the black at half the price . now go on YouTube type normand gelinas find the red merc . tell me that's not as hot as a black . very close indeed but i give the edge to refinement . i rest my case
Furthermore, the court is rejecting the testimony indicating that a 507 Edition is "just about as rare as the black" and the jury
will disregard this comment.

You're on drugs if you really believe any of that. You're basically completely measurably wrong in every possible way.
The 507 was solely a way to empty out the MB parts bin at the end of the C63's run.

This is not really true. None of the customer-bound 507's came out of the factory fitted with the upgraded cooling. Just for the record, only some of the AMG Driving Academy cars (that were thrashed within an inch of their lives) received the 44O cooling package upgrade.
