New Guy
Hey guys!
Well...yesterday I did something that I never thought I would....
I bought a Merc. lol
I've owned a dozen or so BMWs and Porsches over the past decade. This is my first Merc.
First car with a N/A V8 (other than Cayenne). I've been in turbos for the past 5 years.
Lots of reading and learning to do. (Yes I've seen the FAQ post)
Bought a 2012 C63 AMG w/ Dev Package.
The paperwork is all done and signed, should be picking her up today!
It already has a Eurocharged tune, ROW air boxes, and AFE filters.
First plans:
Smoked side markers
Delete all the chrome!
Wheels
Typically, I do wheels last. Since this already has a decent list of performance mods, I figured I'd do wheels sooner.
Wheels are often my "final nail in the coffin" for cars. Since I do them last, the car is usually complete to me.....then I sell it. lol
Any good sites for OEM parts and aftermarket goodies?
I've always used ECS Tuning or Suncoastparts, etc.
(yes this thread is useless without photos)

Congrats, she sounds great - C63 is my first Merc also - ha it about 2 months now and love it - mostly a BMW guy to date and still have a couple, but the Merc fits my lifestyle better than say an M3.
I use ECS a bit - they have a lot of OEM Merc stuff and after market stuff, otherwise check the vendor section on forum also. https://mbworld.org/forums/vendor_directory.php
Welcome!

Thanks!
Also, I didn't see any real collection of DIYs anywhere. A few in the FAQ post, but that's it.
I'm a huge DIYer and often look to the forums for guidance.

I also came from the Porsche Turbo world, so welcome. Honestly, I don't miss my 996 TT one bit. More for the 10yrs advancement in tech than anything else I suppose. They're both exactly the same amount of fast, they just get there in totally different ways. Post pics when you can

Nice!
I used to have a 2001 996TT, then a 2007 997TT (see sig pic).
Should have never sold the 997TT, that was my "white buffalo".

Discount places - oediscountparts is a pretty great site, highly recommend for low cost oem items.
Can't wait to see the progress and look forward to pics!

Awesome, thank you sir!
I was hoping I didn't overlook the DIY thread/section.
Will keep OEDiscountParts in mind when I need oil filters or little things.
Waiting on the dealership to let me know my new tires have been installed.
Then on my way to pick her up!

Welcome! There are some DIY, searching some on here or in google (example: how to install sidemarkers site:mbworld.org) will help out some also.

Seems like all of us 996TT people have a trend too...
Black, black wheels, and big spoiler.![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Love the 997 front end! I wanted to do that to mine but could never justify the cost.
I'm TheInfamousDrew on all forums.

Step one half complete....
Delete all the chrome! Not sure how I feel about the hood emblem though.
Also wrapped the door handles in matte black.
All done with Plasti Dip in anthracite grey

Very nice! My 997 was around 600awhp. I always do my own maintenance so it wasn't too bad. Spark plugs were a PITA. Took me all of an afternoon each time.
