New supercharged toy, pics inside
Hello, Well I was torn between this and SL65 AMG. The SL65s in the $40K range are starting to look a bit dated now. Would love the newer ones but still too pricey.
It looks much more impressive in person. I have always wanted a Corvette. Ever since I saw the C6 I REALLY wanted one. Looks almost like a Ferrari or something to me. Lot of History with Corvettes being around since 1953. Keeping my E55 too.
What impresses me the most about this car is how soft the ride is for normal driving. Stays flat as anything I have ever been in around corners though. Huge trunk space. Could fit like 4 bags of golf clubs back there. Completely removable top comes off and into special place in trunk in 30 seconds flat making it a convertible. One person job too. The hud is so bad ***. Shows speed, driving directions, RPM, G forces in turns etc.
2006 Black A6 3200 lbs curb weight
Has heads up display , heated seats and navigation so I assume it is a LT3 package ?
-Callaway 560 SC (MAggie 112), intake and hood
-Full body kit including Callaway carbon fiber side skirts rear spoiler/lip and front end
-Z06 front and rear quarter panels.
-Black Z06 Rims
-Z06 Brakes
-Nitto Invos 295 up front and 345 in back 500 miles on tires
-Has a fully built trans from Art Carr supposed to handle up to 1000 HP/ stock stall. Paddle shift
-Built rear end made to handle the same
-Kooks ceramic coated Long tube headers with high flow Cats
-LG motorsports mufflers (retail about $800 and too damn loud)
-ported and polished LS2 Heads
-Mild Blower Cam from Callaway
-Magnetic Ride / Z51 package too he said.
-larger radiator
-Dynoed 563 WHP at 5 PSI with 3.0 pulley Said it would do 630 WHP with more boost and a tune. Sounds a little high.
-upgraded sway bars and some misc bushings
-power train warranty covering power train, electrical and cooling including supercharger until 150K mile or 2018 Not sure exactly what else they cover
-glass top and hard top
-looks like Z06 is stitched into the seats so I assume those are upgraded as well.
This one is without the front skirt installed. Have a new one that is going on shortly.

Pro charger is good also. The ls engine has a nice TQ curve. I'm looking to get another to mess with. Driveway and street only holds 5 cars.. Need another house..

You can build an ls engine for 1/4'of the price. If it's in a Vette your weight advantage becomes staggering when you get into the 10's. The c5 is light. C6 is a little bulky. But the newer camaros are really heavy like 3900lbs. I ran a scat pack 392 challenger and pulled on him. He weighed 4200 and it's a 2 door..

Thanks guys. Yeah the corvette weight being 3150 lbs was very attractive. That and the Z06 and ZR1 can fit 345s in the back easily. Come stock with 275 in front and 325 rears. Heck the LS3 will run 12.1@118-119 MPH with street tires and only 370 WHP.
If I didnt want an auto Id get a used ZR1. Can be had with super low miles for 55-60K. Those will go 9s with a few bolt on s and a tune Can do the same with a 2013+ Mustang but personally they dont do it for me. I'll be happy for now with a mid 10 second Vette.
Damn car hooks up really well too on the street. Havent hit it super hard yet off the line but I did lay into it 100% in 1st and the 1-2 shift and it didnt even chirp the tires. Will stat doing some 0-60s and see if it can do better than my 3.5s on the E55. I am thinking it should do a lot better but we will see. Looking forward to going to the strip and also some track days at Laguna Seca.

I had a C5 frc and do miss it. With the C6, in my opinion, you must buy the wide body versions. The wide body ones just look so much better. They are stupid easy to mod and the corvette forum has more dedicated enthusists, not " how do I change my dead battery" posts

The corvettes have always been for me the most beautiful and exotic American muscle cars and to this day still hold that distinction, I mean why wouldn't ya want one?! I live in Australia where they are not available locally which increases the desirability and exotic factor, but right from the start they have done what they do best; sexy lines, raw power and a commanding presence.

Forgot about this thread. I have since moved up with the C6 platform with my supercharged SuperVette. Full suspension, LED lights, Headers, 2300 Blower, Complete Supervette body kit. Oh and upgraded my CTSV to a 2014 AWD CLS63 putting down 630 AWHP and near 700 TQ tune and DP only.
Here is current stable. Got rid of the older C6.
