Mercedes Benz E63 AMG
100-200 kph 60-124mph times

Hey guys i saw the discussion about m5/m6 vs our m157 platform and one member Said we are only comparing with dyno Numbers.
so i wanted to know your 60-124mph times respectively in germany we compare 100-200 kph times
I Start then:

100-200kph in 5.7 with a lot of traction Problems
Turbo Pipes and Catless Pipes 76mm /3"
ECU and Piggyback together
Michelin PSS 285/30 20inch
Turbo Upgrade Stage 1 only Cold side wheel and Compressor back side is stock
Weistec Heat Exchanger

Have you guys found that starting the run in the right gear (3rd?) is faster for 60-130mph/100-200kmh than accelerating from standing start? I know I was .3 to .4 seconds faster that way with other platforms (obviously with different gearing).

I've been trying to get to the bottom of this. I too have been told by many that tuned m157 while great for low-mid range power are not strong on "top end" because "dynos" show that after 4K rpm the torque and power falls flat on its face.

But there's many ways besides high rpm to make good top end power and if m157 stays in meat of its powerband most of the time, it can just be using low revs with LOTS of torque to get a strong top end power vs something like m5 which has decent torque but with high revs to give it a strong top end.

so bottom line is it true that this engine design is not good on top end?

it's usually slower from the dig , I'd say same here , my run was from the dig,
never tried from the roll though

yes this is right. If starting the pull from 100 as opposed to from 0 it's 6.0 seconds flat vs 6.7s with tune+catless dp+air filters from what I've tested.

6.6 was on turbos already , fine tune dropped a second

thats the fastest I've seen so far for the E63.

hmm that's odd. I found my car a good half sec faster when punching it from 100. I think in 3rd gear.

Maybe was just the wrong gear.

5.8 built stroker, GTX3076, 2 intercoolers (top mount - SLR type), watermeth injection, direct air intake, built tranny etc. all in all: 1180hp and 1476Nm
