ipod and 2014 c250

please someone help me before I pull my hair out.

I just got a 2014 c250. In the center console there's a bigger plug and a regular USB plus.

It tells me it can't read the iPod when I try to just use the USB plug. I got some sort of adapter to plug into the bigger port and plug the iPod into that and it still says "No Device"

Can someone please tell if I need a special cord, or if it can't be done.

The USB plug will charge my iPod or iPhone but will not read it. The other plug is the old 30-pin Apple connector and it plays my old iPod fine. I got a lightning to 30-pin adapter for my car used it between the 30-pin and my iPhone 6S and it plays that fine.

You also have to have at least one song saved to your iPod's storage in the Music app.

So where do you plug in your old ipod? Do you just use the regular white cord supplied by apple? I have an ipod classic.

Is there not a 30-pin connector for the iPod in the console? You do not use an Apple cord. The car has a cord that plugs into the iPod, not the other way around.

Looks something like this:

The car does not have one of those. Do you know where I can get one?

It sounds like you already got the cord. Does your car have navigation or harman/kardon sound? You may not have the integration kit at all.

It has the option to add navigation, but I don't have the harmon/kardon sound system.

It's a 2014, it has no "integration kit", it's all integrated. You just need the buy the right media cable.

I assumed he had already tried this since he said that he had bought the cord and it still did not work.

Must have premium 1 package to have iPod integration. If car does not have HK, no integration.

Ah... For some reason I thought with 2012+ they all had "ipod integration". I see now it was an available standalone option but was only included by default with Premium 1.
