C400 Back from Dinan...

I run the Dinan box in 'Race' mode (4.0 PSI vs 3.0 PSI in sport +) since I only ever fill with 93.
Yesterday I got an opportunity to really open the car up - crested a hill and didn't have a car in sight for a couple miles. I was already at about 75 MPH since the speed limit is 70 out here, and decided 'sure, why not?' Punched it and got to the electronic speed limiter ridiculously quickly. I've tapped the limiter many times in the past, but I've never gotten there that quickly! I'm going to have to make a top end acceleration video to compare stock mode to race mode. It was a huge difference.

thatkidfromjrsy got me second guessing the mounting location on the Dinan unit (because of engine heat), so I moved it over to the other side away from engine, and it's clearly visible now.
As a bonus, the connectivity seems to be better as well. The app has not disconnected even once since moving it over. In addition I bumped up the setting to "Race" (4.0 psi) since I use nothing but 93 octane fuel...my car definetly feels more powerful and responsive with the Dinantronics sport!

Woohoo! I think you've sold me on installing it.
Thanks for the pics as well. Dinan's instructions show it mounted on the left (drivers) side between the center air pipe and the left air intake. Would you have been able to route it there if needed? Thanks...

Yes you can mount the module there no problem. I chose my location instead of Dinan's "suggested" one because the center air duct applies slight pressure on the wires leading into the module...something their instructions warn you about.

Thanks to the group
I'm new to this forum and wanted to thank the group for their feedback and time taken to post experiences, pictures and any other pertinent info. I've been on the fence on the Dinan piggy and have been investigating a full tune. The chatter has been helpful and was also very pleased to a thoughtful and thorough response from Dinan. Sorry for the long post, really just wanted to thank everyone for their feedback, it is appreciated and I'm looking forward to hearing more as the wheel time and experience increase!

It's a huge difference. I need to figure out a time to make a comparison video.. It's such a massive difference that I didn't even realize how fast I was going until I realized I wasn't accelerating any more!

If I end up keeping this car beyond the next year, I'll probably go for a 'real tune', but for the interim, especially on the 400 which is already down 30hp or so, it's absolutely worth the difference. I test drove the 450 the day it came out and was happy that I didn't wait and got the 400 instead. This is a much bigger difference.

Good stuff guys.
In anticipation of installing it, I tried setting up my old school Gtech unit...but I think technology has passed it by! RPMs wouldn't stay consistent, jumped around. I may try to recalibrate it. Would love to get some comparo runs done.
