Enjoy Your E63 For What It Is

I specifically meant the comparable models, ie e63 vs M5 vs rs6/7 for turbo upgrade numbers. There is maybe a couple dozen of each. Obviously there are tons of n54/s55 cars with turbo upgrades, but those are not the same class of car or buyer. Ultimately it's immaterial. Most of the people you see *****ing in these threads, are not Street or track racing, and will never likely do more than a tune. They want to ***** about some perceived disadvantage to other cars. If you don't like your car because some guy on the internet is faster... **** off and buy something else. I'm just getting tired of this forum being nothing but an echo chamber of meaningless information.

Well I definitely agree there's been a large increase in "E63 verses this car or that car" ,or "this type of race or that type of race" threads lately, so not sure if it's trolling or just that people are bored with little new information coming out about any performance upgrades for our cars, or ANYTHING that addresses our trans lag.... honestly i would rather have the lag gone and be able to launch hard before i want a turbo upgrade ( though i would want that too)
The problem is if you remove those threads then all you have is a bunch of ego stroking of how great our cars are and check out my new rims type of threads
so I guess I am pragmatic in that I could see it as both a positive and a negative
in the end more people voicing their opinion's versus no people voicing their opinion's, I'll take the former rather than the later ( no matter how stupid either side sounds ) ... although I do realize silencing free-speech is a ever increasing popular trend these days

To a point... Then you either need to do something about it or move onto another car. Look I'm in the middle of a Turbo/Trans/meth build. I know if I make 800whp I'll be lucky to run mid 10s in the mid 130's. Same power in a hellcat runs a 9.60s @140+. Should I just not bother because I won't be as fast? Does a faster car existing, somehow change the enjoyment I get out of building and driving it? Not a chance! Point again being, there is always something better out there in every facet of life. Doesn't mean what you have is any less awesome!

I just think a lot of people are frustrated with the aftermarket of this car. Many people who join these forums are looking to make their car faster, and we see all the different turbo upgrade options at the price they are, but don't produce any real world results. It just seems like the community is being deceived into buying the hardware to make the car "faster" even though it's severely limited by software.

the trans lag does seem to get in the way of limiting both but more so the ET I think

Only one car that I know has trapped that high and that's a one-off build in which I'm sure the owner spent more money in mods than the car is worth.

yep and those are the only guys that supposedly cracked the tcu and figured it out, and they arent sharing that info as they would rather cater to one-off six figure builds than selling tcu tunes for a few bucks

For everybody who thinks the RS 7 or RS6 or whatever Porsche 911 mayby the better car at the drag strip, take a look at this video:
I'm sorry it's in German and if you don't want to watch the whole thing, start watching at 7:07 minutes. You'll be in for a treat.
Ed
So throttle lag or not, it doesn't seem to matter at all.

Skip to the part where the faeries pop out of the boot and give the car a push!
Also that E63 Vagon is modified, as you can clearly see from the in car video at 7:00 min ...IT has a GREY seat BEALT which saves weight and adds 5HP!
man though its a pricey mod, but soooo worth it!

e63s throttle lag seems to be huge in a rs7 vs e63s head to head here
and watch them both tuned (e63s is brabus) and even though the e63 has a better reaction time, you can see it bog off the line and rs7 just rockets ahead... thats the lag
and then there is the 1100+ HP GAD e63... still gets smoked off the line by a stock huracan and thru the 1/4 mile mark

Lastly Brabus is more show then heavy performance (very conservative), we have alot of them over here in our region. Its more of a brand name thing plus warranty coverage. I have personally seen them take care of customers who's trans or engines go. Fully covered, good luck finding other tuners who do that. So has its pros and cons

in 2nd vid, the audi rs7 altechno is basically same as apr stage 1 tune, so it was a fair race against e63s brabus as brabus is about same as renntech tune... was basically a stage 1 vs stage 1 race... the lag killed it for the e63

Cool..more internet videos! Good work guys..keep it up! I feel so much happier with my car now that I've seen it both win and lose badly, driven by some random euro dudes, in the rain, over an unspecified distance! That totally settles the argument.

there's no argument... its just more info.... feel free to ignore it
we get it, you love your car and never want to hear anything else other than its amazing..
me on the other hand, i like to know what the competition is doing and how it stacks up to my platform and what areas my platform is doing good and what areas its doing poorly (an d hopefully improve on that area that needs improvement)

Dude, you kill me. Do You think Its that I don't want to hear that other cars are better, or that I 'm just tired of hearing bench racers argue on the internet about videos, or conjecture? I've built and tuned dozens of cars and they all have there pros and cons. Go drive a mid 10 second car that traps mid to high 130's and tell me how its so terrible, and how upset you are about the Lag, bog, wait..etc.
These threads are f u c k i n g stupid. If you really want to do something helpful, put your money where you mouth is, contact a vendor and work out a game plan, build, Test and try again till you meet your goals. I was sick of pirate vendors charging an arm and a leg for turbos, I contacted a bunch, laid out my vision, found one that will work on it with me on it...low and behold I have a beautiful set of turbos in my hand ready to be part of a build I will take great pleasure in, instead of your d.ick in your hand watching videos on the internet and complaining that no one will solve your perceived/imaginary problem.

Perceived issue?
Has any W212 ever pulled a sub 1.7? With the amount of claimed 700/800whp builds out there, is it fair to refer to this glaring lack of data as a "perceived" issue?
The amount of talk about it is a bit much, I'll agree, but hard to claim it's an imaginary one.
